- Home, the four-lettered word that all the kids back at the orphanage pronounced with a wistful tone, thought Claudine. She closed her eyes and couldn't quite put her emotions into words. She could still feel Ariella's eyes on her now and again but she determinedly looked out of her window for the rest of the trip. She hadn't joined in the minimal conversation that ensued after she was picked up from the forest either.
- It took another while before the car started to slow down. Claudine who had briefly lost track of time finally dragged her eyes away from her window to see what lay ahead.
