Chapter 56 Faithfulness

  • While the ward was shrouded in silence, with neither of them making the first move to talk, Lewis sat on the bed and gazed at Tia, who was peeling an apple for him with a frown on his face. Meanwhile, Tia couldn't stop thinking about the fact that Lewis had only spent not more than three months with Jennie despite their three-year marriage, which Geoffrey mentioned to her moments ago.
  • I know Lewis' missions could keep him occupied all the time, but was he so busy that he couldn't even make time for Jennie? Was something wrong with their marriage, or did they marry each other for something else? Did they really love each other when they got married? At the thought of that, Tia was suddenly startled by the wild imagination that caused her to lose focus and accidentally cut herself. Fortunately, Tia was able to snap out of her trance before causing herself any further damage. Then, she saw blood trickling from the wound on her finger, although it was just a small cut.
  • When Lewis saw what happened, he grabbed the lady's finger and put it in his mouth to suck her wound. However, Tia appeared to be stunned by his unexpected reaction and tried to retract her arm after snapping out of her trance. "I-I'm fine." Although she was surprised and bashful about the man's loving gesture, she couldn't help but feel warm and touched on the inside, finding this feeling strange yet exciting. Deep down, she had no idea why she would feel that way but was somehow comfortable with the way the man treated her despite her embarrassment.
