Chapter 49 Put My Mind to Ease

  • "Lewis?" Tia probingly called out to the man, lifting the blanket that was covering her as she sat up straight on her deck chair. Then, she looked in the direction of the bed amidst the dark.
  • Lewis responded weakly as his desperate breathing gave him away. With a low voice, he said, "I'm fine."
  • That surely doesn't sound like the voice of someone who is fine. Tia then rose to her feet and turned on the lights, whereupon she saw him placing his injured leg on the bed while rubbing his wound with a painful look on his face. At the sight of that, she approached him and asked concernedly, "Are you alright, Lewis? Did you just hurt yourself?" She bent over to check on the man's wound.
