• Tia was still up when Lewis came home that night. She was sitting silently on the living room's couch. The TV was off, and the magazines were unturned as well. She was so immersed in her thoughts that she did not even react to his return. Lewis placed the key in the empty bowl on the cabinet. He took a pair of slippers out of the shoe rack and changed into them, then he went and tapped Tia's shoulder.
• It was then Tia noticed that Lewis had returned, but he looked exhausted. She gave him a gentle smile. "Welcome home."
• Lewis nodded at her. "I'm home." He asked, "What were you thinking about?"
