Chapter 174 Tears

  • Lewis stood on the balcony, feeling frustrated. He lit up a cigarette and drew a deep hit, then he puffed a cloud of smoke out. It faded away into the darkness, and Lewis watched in silence. He never wanted it to be this way, but getting rejected multiple times did hurt a little. The pregnancy was not the problem. Tia did not have to give him a child. It was fine if she did not want to have children. They could talk it out and come to an agreement, but she kept running away from the problem. He could see that she was not necessarily averse to children. Instead, she was not sure if she wanted to bear his children. In other words, she was not sure about her feelings for him.
  • He wondered if that was the correct line of thinking, though that was what he would think in this situation. He smiled bitterly, then took a deep breath and took another drag of his cigarette. He puffed it out, then he realized that he loved her more than he thought. He would obsess over her every little mood change and how important he was to her. He had never felt this way before, not even when he was with Jennie. He never thought he would be this petty. It was as if he had gotten greedier. He hoped she would give him as much love as he had given her.
  • He stayed on the balcony and had two more cigarettes before going back, but when he turned around, he saw Tia standing behind him. When did she get here? She was staring at him, biting her lip. Lewis was still annoyed, but he still felt sorry he hurt her. She was the one he loved. He approached her and looked into her eyes for a silent moment. "Why did you come down?" He sounded a little distant because of his lingering anger.
