• A cold breeze blew over my face and I shivered and glanced up wondering if this was a sign from God that I was slowly wandering into a cold path that I wasn't going to escape. At this point, I didn't think God was even interested in anything that had to do with me anymore. The church was awfully quiet and everyone was attentive and focused and I had never felt more uncomfortable in my life. The priest's hoarse and not very pleasant voice was loud and the only thing sounding through the hall as he read the scripture before proceeding to the oath-taking, but I just wanted to yell "shut up".
