Chapter 14 Confronting the she devil

• Mason's POV
• Do you ever wonder how it is to be locked up?
• Well let me tell you from my experience it's no fun at all.
• It has only been three days but I am getting bored already.
• All I want to do is go out and talk toRachel, admit everything to her and just accept my punishment.
• But I guess I'm still too much of a coward.
• So I wait every night for her to retreat to her room and once I am sure she is asleep, then I move to restock my food and energy supplies.
• Since I don't have much to do in my room, either I work out, play games, or I am cleaning.
• Yes, I am cleaning my room.
• So what?
• Not every guy is a pig when it comes to his room.
• But it is starting to get boring.
• I think even my best friend is getting sick of me moaning about the situation.
• But who can blame him.
• Since I have nothing to do, I bug him all day long.
• And I mean it literally.
• I check in with him in the morning, to see what he is up to, if there is anything new in our company and if our game is progressing as planned.
• Of course I've heard all about the new hot secretary at least 5 times a day ever since the day she started working.
• Looks like the little she devil has the whole company wrapped around her pinky finger already.
• Since it's already 5pm I decided to give him a call.
• He picked up after the first ring so I guess it wasn't so bad, or he would ignore me by now.
• "Please tell me you stopped being a pussy and confronted your roomie already."
• "Hey Brandon. How are you? It is so good to hear your pleasant voice. Do you miss me?"
• He started laughing on the other side of the line.
• "Hey Mas, I am ok thank you. But I do have a surprise for you. I am coming your way because you need to get your head out of your ass and it seems you can't do it on your own."
• Now it was my time to laugh. No wonder we were best friends for years.
• Let's be honest.
• We were both idiots
• "Sure, you can come over,just make sure you bring me some energy drinks. You know what kind I drink, and move faster. I am Running low on energy right now."
• We ended our call soon after.
• He will be here in minutes anyways.
• After only five minutes I heard a knock at the front door.
• I made sure the coast was clean and pretty much ran to open the door.
• I started pushing Brandon towards my room but he stood there like a sculpture made of stone.
• "Come on man, what's wrong with you, move it before my rookie comes out of her room."
• But it looks like my best friend had the exact opposite idea in his head because he moved to the living room and parked his ass on the couch.
• "See Mas, that's your problem. You are hiding from her like a criminal. Just face her, get things over with and take back control over your life."
• Just at that moment Rachel came out of her room.
• "Hi Mason. I hope you are doing better. Aron told me you called in sick."
• I looked at her and felt guilt settle in my stomach.
• But then her eyes caught a glimpse of Brandon.
• "Oh. Hi Brandon. I didn't know you guys knew each other."
• Brandon looked from me to Rachel a few times before he spoke.
• "Wait. Do I understand everything correctly here? You two are roomies?"
• He looked shocked but hey I did tell him all about Rachel, except her name.
• "Also hi Rachel. And yes me and this asshole go way back. We became best friends after he joined our company. I was his mentor at the start, but I guess I can admit he taught me more than I didn him."
• After that we spent some time together chatting until it was time for Brandon to go home to his wife and kid.
• I went with him to lock behind him but before he left he turned my way and fake whispered.
• "I know you said your roomie is hot, but you didn't say she was Rachel. Because let's be honest she is drop dead gorgeous."
• "Don't make me tell on you to your wife Brandon."
• "Asshole. I didn't mean it like that. You know I love my wife, but it doesn't mean I am blind. But I will tell you this only once. Get things right with her. She is a good woman."
• After he was gone I thought about his words for a second and of course I realized he was right.
• I moved back to the living room thinking maybe I could watch a movie.
• But as I rounded the corner there stood Racnel with a smug smirk on her face.
• "So you think I am hot huh?"
