Chapter 11 I might like you a little
- Rachel's POV
- When I came home earlier I was so full of positive energy that I had to do something with it.
- So I cleaned the house, cooked dinner, and made dessert.
- I did it all in a blink of an eye.
- Now that I was waiting for Mason to emerge from the shower I had nothing to do, somI thought to myself, why not.
- Let's get a bit dolled up.
- I hurried into my room and for the second time in a span of 24 hours started digging in my closet for something nice.
- For a change, today's evening was pretty warm.
- So I decided on a nice blue summer dress with green stripes.
- It reached my mid thighs, was strapless and allowed almost no cleavage to be displayed. But the back was another story. It had a low cut that reached almost all the way down to my ass.
- Now this I call fancy but still casually.
- I paired my outfit with nice blue flats and fixed my make up a little.
- Now I guess I was ready.
- I came out of my room and spotted Mason right away.
- He was bent over the kitchen counter trying to steal some sauce.
- I faked a cough but it didn't even startle him.
- He stayed in his position when he spoke.
- "I was wondering if I was supposed to prepare anything or just start eating. Whoa. Are you going out or something?"
- In the middle of talking he turned my way and shock was obviously written on his face.
- I giggled at his statement.
- Wait. What the fuck?
- Since when did I become a giggling high schooler again?
- Get a grip woman!
- "Is it too much? I just wanted to look somewhat nice. After all, we are celebrating."
- E was still looking at me with shock but shook his head a moment later and just like that he was back to Mason I knew.
- "Nah it's ok. We are just two frenemies eating a celebratory dinner together. And you are right. You do look nice. To be honest you look beautiful."
- Wait. Was that a compliment?
- I finally checked him out as well.
- Well, well. It looked like we had the same idea.
- Because he stood in front of me wearing jeans that hugged his ass in a perfect way, and he paired them with a light blue button down.
- I chuckled under my breath before I answered him.
- "Well thank you. You don't look so bad yourself. I can't believe we even managed to coordinate our colors. Would you mind helping me set the table and then we can eat?"
- He showed me with his hand that I should lead the way, and I did it gladly.
- Once we got the table set we started with our dinner.
- I was waiting for Mason to take his first bite, so there was no chance I'd miss his reaction.
- And I wasn't disappointed.
- As soon as he took his first bite he moaned, and it was not a good sound for my body.
- Especially since I wasn't wearing a bra and his moan made my nipples harden in an instant.
- "Damn Rachel. I can cook, but this is something completely different. Where'd you learn to cook like this?"
- I gave him a soft smile.
- "It's one of my grandma's recipes. I don't make food by her recipes so often anymore, because they take a lot of time, since everything is made from scratch. But when I cook by them, it is usually when I am celebrating something."
- "It's amazing. But you better dig in or you will be hungry, because I won't have enough if I eat only what is on my plate."
- I chuckled but dug into my dinner.
- It tasted the same as when grandma made it for me when I was younger.
- It was like my own teleporting machine to go back in time.
- We ate in silence and once we were finished Mason threw me out of the kitchen with a glass of red wine in hand.
- He said I am not allowed to wash the dishes since I cooked.
- So I obeyed and sat in the living room.
- I was drinking my wine and enjoying some TV time.
- He joined me in half an hour, once he cleaned the whole kitchen.
- We were just watching some tv when suddenly I started drifting off.
- But I tried to keep my eyes opened because it felt nice.
- "You can lean on me if you want to take a nap. And I can wake you up once the movie is over."
- He shocked me but I was tk tired to care.
- So I just moved closer and leaned on him like he suggested.
- And in seconds I was out like the lights.
- *************
- I woke up because someone was shaking me.
- "Rach? Come on, let's get you to your bed."
- But my brain was not ready to cooperate with my body and it felt like my legs were not willing to move.
- "Nooo. Want to sleep."
- He chuckled and lifted me bridal style.
- It felt somehow familiar but I had no idea from when.
- Mason never carried me before tonight, right?
- Nah I would sure remember those muscles under me.
- We reached my bedroom and when he tried to move away I pulled him down on the bed next to me .
- "You are not going anywhere. I am not ready to say goodbye to my pillow. Did anyone tell you that you're a really soft pillow even though you have all these muscles?"
- He laughed lightly.
- "You are a very chatty person when you are half asleep. Has anyone ever told you that?"
- I had to smile at his comeback.
- "Guess we both lived in the dark because no one told us these important facts."
- "Goodnight Rachel. Sweet dreams."
- I could hear a smile in his words and at that moment I realized I might even like my roomie a little bit.
- With those thoughts running around my head I drifted off to sleep.
- I will think about it in the morning.
