Chapter 2

  • Walking across the school corridors, I stumble upon students who were memorizing different terms and definitions repeatedly. Their nervous face was visible as I am for the exam, while some were loosening up and prefers to be quiet in a corner with a book.
  • A bulky shoulder suddenly bumped into mine, it was my guy friend, Gin. He placed an earbud in my left ear and we both listen to the song his phone was playing.
  • "Relax a little, would you?" he said.
  • I breathe out a sighed. The confidence to take an exam and passed it is remarkably low. Especially since I didn't study much this week. But miracles do happen so best of luck to me and my friends.
  • "Uhmm... Mari?" My head turned to Gin who was looking at me seriously.
  • "Yes?"
  • "Can I talk to you after class?"
  • "I need to go home asap, sorry," I reasoned.
  • Gin likes me... or that's what I heard from my friends. My intuition can also tell. He's kind, a considerate person and a very polite student. Every girl would love him for sure. • "I-It's okay. Maybe next time when you're free?"
  • "Sure."
  • Focusing on the exams should be my agenda yet I'm having trouble with love! May my parents forgive me.
  • Gin and I part ways after reaching my room. He's one grade ahead of me in a different strand while I'm in grade 12 together with Emma and Samantha.
  • The bell rang indicating the test will start. Test papers were given by our adviser and the clock begun running too fast. After the exam, I rushed outside looking for a black car.
  • "Marinette!" Emma called from behind. "Won't you come with us to a milktea shop?"
  • I look at them then back to my phone.
  • Leonard: Guess who's outside? I heard your exams are finished, let me treat you
