Chapter 4

• Parth's POV
• I reached the hospital and went to my department. The nurse greeted me with a smile but I just gave a curt nod and went to my cabin.
• After about 10 minutes, I walked into the Dermatology department to meet my best friend Siddharth.
• " Hey Sid, how are you?? I missed you a lot. " I said and embraced him.
• " Fine !! " He said but didn't look fine.
• " Oh god, why are you still so grumpy?? " I asked him.
• " Nothing !! I am not in a good mood. Sorry, you tell me. " He said trying to smile at me.
• " I am as good as ever. But I will be better now, my best friend is back. Tell me what happened?? "
• I prompted him to come out with his issue. Though I knew it was related to that junior doctor Shruti, I wanted him to get everything out of his chest.
• He told me everything about how Kunal called Shruti, while he was coming to Chandigarh with Shruti, and said that he was missing her. My best friend was fuming even now.
• " This Kunal... I have to teach him a lesson. You know, we played Holi with him with a plate of hot colourful food. " I told him.
• " What are you talking about? How and when?? "
• " After you left me alone on that damn trip to Rajasthan. We were enjoying it so much till you were with me. Then you got pissed off because of Shruti and Kunal. They were having food when we poured plateful of hot food all over his pristine white shirt and it looked as if he had just played Holi. " I told him with a grin.
• " Oh, yes!! Shruti said that you behaved badly with Kunal. " Sid said.
• " He deserves it. I didn't want to see them enjoying the food cosily after spoiling our enjoyment. I was so angry with them because you got so jealous to see them happy together that you left. And how could I let them enjoy if my enjoyment was spoilt because of them? " I said.
• " I am proud of you. You made my day with this news. I will kill him if I see him anywhere near Shruti again. " Sid smiled and said.
• " Don't worry, I will tackle him, after all, he will assist one of our friends as he is starting his internship. " I said with a devilish expression.
• " Maurvi helped me clear the misunderstanding. Everything was going well, till he called up. I was so irritated that I wanted to smash everything around me. I have been in love with Shruti for so long... How dare he say that he missed her. who gave him the right to miss her? " Sid was very upset.
• " Yes, don't worry. We will do something. Let's go, we will be allotted the new interns today. Let's see, what happens..." I said and winked at him. His mood perked up.
• Siddharth has been my best friend since we got our admission here. He was the best dermatologist in the hospital, a very hard-working doctor.
• We all went to the Dean's office, where his assistant was waiting for all the young senior doctors. All the other doctors were also there. He took out name chits and placed them in a big bowl.
• He told us to pick 3 chits each. Siddharth picked up three chits but I had a plan, so I picked up 6 and discreetly opened three of them it didn't have Shruti's name on it so, I passed two of them to another doctor saying that I picked up more by mistake.
• Then I opened another chit discreetly and smiled. It was the one I was looking for. I gave it to Sid and took one from his hand and winked.
• I saw the one, I took from him and put it back in the bowl saying sorry but I seemed to have picked more.
• The assistant to Dean glared at me but I gave a cute apologetic smile to him.
• I had 3 chits now and so did Sid. I was happy that Sid would get Shruti as his intern. He was looking at me weirdly. As if he was asking me, what was I doing? I winked at him and smiled again.
• " Ok !! Please open the chits and write down the names of the interns against your names. ". Said the assistant.
• Sid opened the chits and a bright smile came to his face as the chit which I passed on to him held the name which was also written on his heart. He looked at me and grinned.
• I opened the chit and smiled devilishly. He asked me what happened???
• I showed him my chits and one of the names made him even happier. It was Kunal.
• So now his girl was going to be with him for the whole day, whether she liked it or not. And that idiot Kunal will have to handle me.

• We wrote the names on the register and had to go out.
• " You know what??? You are awesome !!! " He said hugging me.
• " I know that since the day, I was born. Tell me something, I don't know. " I said.
• " I love you... " He said and embraced me.
• " I know... " I said and laughed. Just then I saw a familiar face for a fraction of a second and I was surprised to see it. But when I looked around, I could not see it.
• Did I really imagine that face? Yes, I must have... But why? she was like a bad dream.
• Somehow seemed to be there in reality.
• But why would she come here??... We don't operate mental patients here. I shook my head and smiled.
• We were supposed to go to a lecture theatre where all the interns were sitting.
• The names of the interns were called along with the names of the doctors, they were to assist.
• The moment Shruti's name was announced along with Siddharth, I saw the tension on Shruti's face. Siddharth was looking at her from the corner of his eyes with a big smile on his face while she also looked at him.
• Stupid couple!!
• I didn't know what was wrong with Shruti, even a blind man could see that Sid was madly in love with her.
• She avoided him like plague. But now she could not even if she wanted as she had to assist him.
• After that, we left and the interns were instructed to report to their respective departments or doctors.
• " All the best Sid, you tackle your angry bird. I will keep that Kunal away from her. " I said and went away after he hugged me once again.
• I went to my cabin in the pathology department and waited for the interns who would assist me.
• I knew Kunal, but the other two were girls, let's see, maybe I get some hot and sweet intern too.
• I was excited to meet my interns, especially, that Kunal. I had many plans to torture him. He was irritating my best friend by being over-friendly with the love of his life.
• Now I will keep him busy here in my department. I was also excited that there would be two female doctors at my every beck and call.
