Chapter 14 The Call

• Fear, terror, the feelings that occur when someone is in great danger. She opens her eyes, groaning from the pain of the fall. “Ugh!” she squirms, trying to place her hand on the floor, but finding only pain. She looks at her palm, seeing blood, probably from the friction with the vine when she violently had to let go. She looks around in anguish, trying to find Nina. Trying to stand up, she stumbles across bones and rambles, instilling the sense of despair even more.
• This is a sinner’s place that they shouldn’t have meddled with.
• “Eve!”, she finally hears a familiar voice, finding Niko on the ground. She rushes to help him up, noticing that his knee is bloody. “Is it that bad?”, he says, noticing her pity look. “I--I.. It's going to be fine”, she tries to sound untroubled, though her eyes giving her feelings away. She wraps his arm around her back, trying to help him walk away from that awkward spot he found himself into. He is limping, grunting at each step. “We can take a break”, she comments. “No, I’m fine sweetheart!”, he says with a smile, trying to hide the pain. “No time for heroism Niko. You are hurt”, she answers, making him drop the act a little bit. “We need to find the others”.
