Chapter 11 OPHELIA

• Ezra follows her, passing through the vast forest, always feeling like he is being watched. “I don’t remember this place like this”, he mumbles. “Lately it’s been more grim than usual. It’s waiting for something, I’m just not sure what that is”, she says, as she is lighting the way through a lamb. “Here”, she comments, pointing at the largest roots he has even seen, being tangled with vines. “Wait--here, here?”, he doubts her. She scoffs, and with a wave of her hand, the vines give in, and a door appears. “After you”, she says, with Ezra and Lucas entering. Seeing how the space is getting smaller, Lucas starts getting smaller in order to fit.
• They take the last step in, seeing something they didn’t expect. A cozy little house, filled with books, food and blankets, bearing a positive aura. “Welcome to my ol’ sweet home”, she says, while offering them to take a seat. Lucas is hanging in the back, trying to get some rest, while Ophelia and Ezra sit on the sofa across from each other. She offers him tea to calm the nerves, giving him the time to speak. “So, now that you are more relaxed, tell me everything”.
• The hours pass, him telling her all about his first encounter with her, how Amon was the one that triggered her abilities to flourish, their mistake, and how she has the powers of a Summoner. Ophelia is sitting there, while he is pacing up and down, having no idea how to deal with a teenager that has no idea of the reality of her nature, or this world. But Ophelia sits calmly, sipping from her tea, while letting all sink in.
