Chapter 29 Reunion At The Bookstore

  • After fighting, crying and almost being beaten, Helena and her friends went to the literary meeting at the Shakespeare and Company Bookstore, for the launch of Thierry Beaumont's book. He helped her a lot when she needed it and it would be ungrateful not to go.
  • Shakespeare and Company (Shakespeare and Company) is the name of two bookstores in the south of the city of Paris. The first was opened by Sylvia Beach on November 19, 1919 at number eight Dupuytren street and transferred in 1922 to number twelve Odeão street.
  • During the 1920s it became a meeting place for several writers, closed in 1940 due to the Nazi occupation of France and never reopened.
