Chapter 40 Issues

• While walking to my office, I study the file in my hands that I should have left behind for Aziel.
• But circumstances have changed, and I now need it for my cover up. My mind is buzzing about why I should have to defend myself against Danner for a night I spent with someone of my choice. I've never made any demands on Danner, so I can expect the same from him.
• ‘Because you were stupid enough to get engaged to him, I reprimanded myself. Sure enough, I bump into Danner standing in the hallway like a statue, with his hands folded. “Hi Danner, are you looking for me?”, I ask him with a dazzling smile. I get on my toes and kiss him on the corner of his mouth. He is silent as he continues to stare at me. I look back at him strangely.
