• I skip through the spellbook for the fourth time as I try to find a potion to undo my mistake. I’ve been trying since I found out Eric is an incubus and probably the one that’s been haunting El’s dreams. I don’t know how to tell El, so I’ve been trying to cure her secretly. I have given her three cures in the form of drinks, and while she has drunk all three, she remains under his spell. The love potion he gave her enhanced by whatever he added seems incurable.
• He told me it would make it more effective, but I didn’t know it would make it possibly irreversible. How could I do that to my best friend? How could I easily betray her? And for what? Keira has barely spoken to me since that night, and when she does, she only brings up making more potions. Confirming what I knew but didn’t want to acknowledge. She never loved me. I was just a tool for her to use.
