• After learning the unfortunate news from Miaree and Marcy, I don't know how I will be able to be happy with the accomplishment and recognition I have received. Should I be ecstatic about the fact that I have the ace and that, according to Miaree and Marcy, I will come in first place among all of the players? Even though I've reached the pinnacle, I can't figure out why I'm feeling so down.
• As soon as we got back to the classroom, everybody changed their attitude toward me to become much more friendly. Vera is not in the class that I am in, but some of her friends are, and they are trying to avoid eye contact with me.
