Chapter 8 Meet The Half-Sister

  • "What did you say, Kianna? You are calling me a mad dog?!" Vera's nose almost smoked with anger. A few of her classmates also approached Vera to stop her.
  • "Wow! I didn't expect the dog to answer now. How adorable!" Kia grinned, her face looking as if she had just seen a kitten and was awestruck by its cuteness.
  • Irritated, Vera picked up her tumbler in an attempt to throw it at Kia, "You!"
  • Her classmates rushed up to her and attempted to take her tumblr. "Calm down, Vera! Ma'am Ramos is on her way, and if you do that, you might get in trouble."
  • Vera let go of her grip slowly and took a long breath. Vera sat down in her chair, furious, and said, "Fine! Stop touching me!" "Let's just see if the prior professors don't punish you for being late..." Vera said quietly.
  • "What are you talking about? Don't expect me to be scolded because I have talked to our teachers and asked if I may take a leave of absence due to my unexpected marriage," Kia explained, defending herself.
  • Their room was filled with a whisper. "Married?" Miaree said, surprised. "How did I not know you were married?"
  • "I'm sorry and I didn't tell you. Suddenly I don't have time to let you know. Anyways, the professors gave me three days to be absent but since I don't have anything to do, I went in today. " Kia replied and sat down in her chair.
  • Her classmates approached her right away and began gossiping. Vera's glare at Kia is visible as her classmates surround her.
  • You have no right to outshine me! Kianna, you're the real villain in my story... How did she end up married while I don't even have a boyfriend? I'm better than her in comparison! Vera thought to herself.
  • "Is that true, Kia? No joke, you got married?"
  • "How come you didn't just invite us?"
  • "Have you gone on your honeymoon yet, Kia?"
  • "Wow, is he attractive?"
  • "Did you see his body? Do you think he has abs?"
  • "Vincent is quite fortunate; congratulations, Kia."
  • As they approached Kia, the gossip became increasingly louder.
  • "Thank you," Kia said, "but I didn't marry Vincent."
  • All of them were stunned, and Kia was even more confused. "But your fiancé is Vincent Rivera, right? How come he's not the one you married?" their class president asked.
  • Her classmates hurried back to their seats after three thunderous slams on the door. Ma'am Ramos, their terror teacher, entered carrying her umbrella, which she never left in her house, rain or shine.
  • "Do you have nothing better to do but gossip? Have you finished your readings? Why do you prioritize making noise over reading your readings?!" she exclaimed as she shuffled her students' index cards on the table. "All right, recitation now," Ma'am Ramos said, reaching for one of the index cards. The odd expressions on everyone's faces reveal their dread, as if they were suffering from an unexpected round of diarrhea.
  • All of the students are terrified of Ma'am Ramos since she is also studying to be a lawyer, that’s why she expected her students to recite the way they recited in law school, "Gilbuen! Explain everything on page 24." Ma'am Ramos said, making Mr. Gilbuen trembled in fear.
  • °°°
  • "We were so lucky that we were called to the passage we read." Miaree whispered as she calmed herself due to the nervousness she felt while reciting. She was the last to be called.
  • "Kia was lucky and she was exempted merely because she asked if she could be absent but she still came in. You looked so hardworking for Ma'am Ramos. You must be her next favorite student now," Marcy commented.
  • "Wait! Who exactly did you marry, and why not Vincent? How did your family approve it? Aren't you reconciled for the future partnership of your companies?" Miaree asked, she’s full of questions in her mind.
  • "I'll tell you guys later, let's not waste our thirty minute break for nothing," Kia said, staring at the two of them as they walked to the canteen together.
  • °°°
  • "What?! You married a stranger?! Aren't you concerned he has some insidious sickness or maybe he's hooked on some kind of drugs, and what if he did something to you?" Miaree worriedly shouted. Kia immediately covered her friend's mouth because it was a bit loud.
  • "Kianna Myst! Losing your love is nothing serious! Why did you just marry someone you barely know?! You can't just sacrifice and give yourself like that! Who is that man?! Where is he now?! We're gonna kick his ass!" Marc said while angrily biting the purchased bread.
  • "Relax guys. Nothing happened to us. I think he's kind. He works in an imperial group. He's an assistant and a very respectable person." Kia said in defense of her husband.
  • "Imperial group? It's a big corporation, ha. All I know is that they have a strict recruitment technique, and the individuals who get in are top talents; if he's an assistant, that means he's a highly intelligent and skilled guy." Marc's knowledge of businesses was astounding, making her friend Kia smile and resumed eating.
  • "I heard that my good sister got married yesterday. Congratulations!" Voice coming from behind her, it was Kia’s snake step sister. They turned to face the source of the voice, which turned out to be Asteria accompanied by her friend Vera.
  • "Aster, being married is a big deal; wasn't she able to inform your family? Aww, I'm afraid her husband is a nobody, so she managed to keep it a secret," Vera added, nearly laughing at her own thoughts.
  • "Look who's here. A dog and his owner. Hey you guys, behave yourselves. The odor of your conduct is dissipating," Kia stated gently.
  • "What did you just call me?!?" Vera screamed violently as she hurled the can of coke at Kia.
  • "Watch out, Kia!" Miaree exclaimed worriedly
  • Kia remained cool and still, waiting for the canned coke to approach before avoiding it. It hit the one behind Kia straight away, hitting one of the Redbull Gang members. One of the gangs feared at their University.
  • "Bitch! I'm going to kick your ass!" Vera couldn't hold back her rage any longer, and it was time to approach Kia. But he was taken aback as the muscular man who had been hit by his canned coke slowly stood up.
  • "All right, then, try me," Kia said with a smile. Later, the man who had been hit by Vera's canned coke stepped forward, his face irritated.
  • As if the two were too stunned and had just turned pale like a dead body to see the size of the man who could pull them up and throw them away. "How dare you throw a can at me?! Come here and I'll show you how terrible it is!" The guy was very furious. The two became much more terrified as his voice became more full, and they bolted.
  • "I'm sorry!! We didn't want to hit you; it was for Kianna!" Asteria cried frantically. Suddenly an adrenaline rush hit the two and they quickly left the canteen.
  • "You are fantastic! You're a great best friend!" Miaree exclaimed gleefully as she and Marc couldn't stop giggling at what they saw.
  • "Did you enjoy the show?" Kia asked with a laugh. "Let's eat quickly and it's almost time." Kia said and they resumed eating.
  • °°°
  • “Sh*t! How dare he pour a coke at my face?! Argh! It's too sticky!” Asteria whimpered fiercely in the restroom while scrubbing her clothes. Vera was chased by the muscular man who was after them when she and Vera parted. Asteria ran straight to the bathroom to clean herself properly.
  • People in the restroom gazed at her and whispered as soon as she entered. "Can you tell me what you're looking at?! Do you want your eyeballs pulled out?! Scumbags! " Asteria yelled fiercely, and everyone rushed out of the restroom, leaving her alone.
  • "Kianna, you're grating on my nerves! I'll see to it that you pay! Even if you have a fiance, you are a highly flirty creature who got married right away. Well, she did a good job since I'm going to have Vincent entirely... "Asteria stated, staring in the mirror and talking to herself.
  • She instantly dialed Vincent Rivera's number on her phone. When he answered, the road noise was still audible, so Asteria pulled her phone away from her ear slightly.
  • "Hi, honey! What are your current whereabouts? Why does the noise appear to be very loud? Are you outside your office?" Asteria's voice transformed to that of a five-year-old child as she began to speak.
  • [What's the matter, sweetheart? Didn't you get enough to last night? Do you want to try it once more?] Vincent asked.
  • "Omg, stop making fun of me!" You know, I just miss you. Where are you right now?" Asteria's cheek went bright red.
  • [I just left the office to go for a walk; how about I pick you up right now? I haven’t tried it in the office yet.]
  • “Sure! I’m right here for you, honey. ”
  • Get ready, Kianna slut, you're going to pay for everything! After hanging up the phone, Asteria mumbled to herself.
