Chapter 6 Sorry

  • Twaine's Point of View :
  • "I-I don't know about his resignation. Why did he resigned and since when?" Tears welled up in my eyes as I asked my friend.
  • "Because of Miss Roxanne. You know the rules of the school, don't you? He's the one who sacrificed his job for Miss Roxanne."
  • Because of what Ana said, my chest hurt even more. He could sacrifice his job just because of that woman.
  • She's so lucky.
  • "A-ana, you go in. I'll just talk to Kyle." I said to Ana. I didn't wait for her response, I immediately ran to look for Kyle.
  • Because of whoever ran into me, the books I was carrying fell off. I didn't have time to pick them up so I just let them go.
  • "Miss! Miss just wait, your books!" I didn't realize that the one who hit me was chasing me. Turning around, I immediately saw who it was. It's Clyde.
  • "Give me that!" I just grabbed the books he handed me and I continued running again.
  • "Wow! Thank you!" He said sarcastically. I turned to him and voluntarily thanked him.
  • "T-thank you—"
  • "Sorry." He said after I thanked him.
  • I don’t know why he’s sorry. And I don’t have time to find out more. I just kept running while my tears were dripping. But I was surprised that he chased me again.
  • "Onboard!" It was only then that I realized that he was already on the motorbike. I frowned at him.
  • "I know you're after something. All right, come on." I didn't hesitate, I immediately got on his motorbike.
  • I want to talk to Kyle. I don’t know what’s been going on with him.
  • While Clyde was driving we stayed quiet. He also ran the motor fast, so we got home right away. I also don’t know how Clyde found out about our house.
  • "Thanks. You can leave now." I said.
  • "No, I'll wait for you." He insisted.
  • "No, I'll be okay. You can leave now—but if you insist, then, okay." If he doesn't want to go home he'll take care of it.
  • I immediately went upstairs to Kyle’s room. I was about to turn his doorknob when I heard noises that made me feel even heavier. It was as if I just wanted to fall off a tall building and die suddenly.
  • "Ahh! Kyle—"
  • I knew that voice. It was the voice of the woman he loved. I didn't know that he brings her to my house. How dare him!
  • "Take it easy—oh! Ahh! Ahh!"
  • Stupid if stupid, but I just continued to listen to their grunts. I'm hurt too so I'll just overdo it.
  • "I hate you!" Because I was a fool, I went into Kyle's room. I saw how Roxanne was tickled by Kyle, and how happy they are in each other's arms.
  • They were both under the blanket, so I didn’t know what else they were doing.
  • "Twaine!" To Kyle's shock, he stood up just as he was about to approach me but I stopped him.
  • "Don't come near me! I hate you!" I shook my head and shouted at him.
  • "And you, aren't you my adviser? Aren't you embarrassed? You absent from your class just to be with my husband?"
  • I know it's crazy but I still have the right to be like this because Kyle and I are still married.
  • "Get out of here!" I shouted to her, I wanted to tweak her but Kyle immediately grabbed and stopped me.
  • "Twaine that's enough!" Kyle scolded me.
  • "Enough? Did that word come from you, Kyle? That's enough? Why, are you hurting? No, it should be you! Kyle that's enough, get out of my house! Leave me alone! Take your woman with you!" I shouted to him with so much anger and pain.
  • "Hey! I'm not just his woman. He loves me! Your husband loves me!" I laughed at what she said because it's true—Kyle loves her.
  • "Roxanne, go home now. I'm sorry, let's talk some other time." Kyle pleads with her.
  • After Roxanne left, Kyle confronted me again.
  • "What's your problem, Twaine?" He asked me angrily.
  • "Are you stupid? I'm hurt, Kyle! You're hurting me—"
  • He suddenly hugged me which kept me on my feet. I didn’t hug him back. I stayed where I was, holding the tears that keep flowing from my eyes.
  • "S-sorry—" He whispered.
  • "Leave!" I let go of his hug.
  • "Twaine—"
  • "Leave me, Kyle, don't extend it to my 18th birthday because while I'm with you and seeing you, you're only hurting me more," I said crying.
  • "I can't do that." He said.
  • "Why?" I laughed.
  • "Because I made a promise to your Dad that I will never leave you!" He said.
  • Oh, yeah, he promised that's why he's staying with me.
  • "Stupid!"
  • "Twaine please, let's talk about this. I'm sorry, sorry for hurting you." He pleaded.
  • "Kyle it's enough, you're leaving me too, aren't you? Why are you taking it so long?" I said.
  • "Twaine,"
  • "Go on Kyle, leave me now!"
  • "Leave!"
  • I shouted at him. I already love him but he has already hurt me.
  • "Take care of yourself." He said before finally leaving the house. After Kyle left I immediately locked myself in my room.
  • "Damn! I hate you! I hate you, Kyle!" I poured all the pain I was feeling inside my room, by screaming.
  • "Shhh, stop crying you look ugly!" A familiar voice stopped me from screaming.
  • "What are you doing here Clyde?" I asked him when I saw him right in my room.
  • "I'm here to comfort you." He answered once hugging me. I don't know but I cried, even more, when he hugged me.
  • "You're Twaine, right?" I nodded in response.
  • "Don't cry, I'm just here. Remember that, that pain—" he pointed at my chest.
  • "—will disappear too. Believe me."
  • "I hope so." I'll just answer.
  • Kyle's Point of View :
  • "Kyle! What are you doing here?" Mommy opened up to me as soon as I got home.
  • "Twaine and I are separated," I said sadly.
  • "What? Why?"
  • "She caught Roxanne and me."
  • "Then?"
  • "Then, she kicked me out," Mom yelled at me because I was like a child complaining to her about what happened earlier.
  • "And you ran away? What went through your mind to let Roxanne pretend that she was your girlfriend, huh?"
  • "I just want to know if she loves me," I answered.
  • "Oh, after what you did, did you let her confess her feelings to you?" I shook my head in response.
  • "Oh, it's not like that, so why did you leave Twaine alone at your house? Oh, Kyle, it's just a matter of time and I'll hit you again!"
  • "Mom!"
  • "All right Kyle, get back to Twaine."
  • "But mom, Roxanne is my girlfriend," I confessed.
  • "What?" Mom asked unbelievably.
  • "She told me that she loves me, so I asked her to be my girlfriend. I also resigned as a professor at Hartfeld."
  • "Are you out of your mind, Kyle? What about Twaine? And do you love that Roxanne?"
  • "I don't know," I answered.
  • "Kyle! I thought you're matured enough to figure out things like this?"
  • "Fix your life with Twaine before it's too late, Kyle. I don't want you to come home if Twaine and you aren't okay." Mom added.
  • Because of Mommy's preaching, I had no choice but to return to Twaine's house.
  • When I entered the house I was surprised because it was not locked. That woman isn't careful as always. What if I didn't go home, she'll be in danger for sure!
  • I was surprised at what I found. Clyde was in Twaine's room. Twaine was fast asleep while Clyde watched her.
  • "What are you doing here?" I asked Clyde.
  • "Watching your wife." He answered coldly.
  • "Go home. I'll take care of her." Clyde just nodded and left the house.
  • Clyde is my nephew. He knew about Twaine and me. I don’t know how they met, somehow I don’t care about that anymore. I glanced at Twaine again. She's so beautiful.
  • I regret hurting her.
  • She doesn't deserve any kind of pain.
  • "I'm sorry Twaine. I love you." I whispered to her before I entered my room.
