Chapter 68
- Pain erupted in my back and neck as Xavier's fangs sank into my flesh. A vicious growl from him made my body rumble in it, and I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to overcome the searing pain.
- He lifted me in his mouth, and I hung like a rag doll. My left arm stiffened and started thrumming in agony, and I wondered what he had cut off. A snicker-like sound rode out through his chest as he started running down the street with me in his clutch. Every step he took, felt like a brick put over my body, trapping me in a deep grave. My right hand was broken and slowly healing, and my whole left arm felt like it was gone. I couldn't even move it anymore.
- A tear slid down my cheek as Xavier kept running in some direction. I was done for. I couldn't protect Noah, me, my baby... Blake. I was going to die all alone, by the arms of a person I thought I could trust with my whole being.
