Chapter 23
- Reaching up to Wolfy, we silently walked down the street of our town. I didn't know what to say. Whatever I did, he shoved it into my face. This whole thing was a mistake. I shouldn't have - one: either gotten closer to him, or two: tried to use him like this. But I did both, so now I was stuck with an unhappy mate that also caused me to be unhappy.
- I closed my eyes for a moment and memories of the calendar on the wall passed through my vision. I had thought he had given up on it. But gradually, Wolf became the one to mark every passed morning.
- Walking lost in my thoughts was a dumb thing. And it resulted in me slipping on ice and falling. Wolfy grabbed onto me and we both hit the frozen asphalt together. When I looked at him, I confirmed he had shaven this morning. I absentmindedly touched his cheek and he flinched.
