Chapter 30

• "Come on, the other side," John said as he walked to the other side of the car. His man followed him and promptly fell to work, painstakingly scrubbing every visible inch. He dared not grumble. John was not known to be harsh if you were unlucky enough to get into his bad books, the consequences could be energy-draining.
• "Harder. Scrub harder," he ordered as he stood watching the man do the job. It was a punishment for messing up the car, John's Chevrolet, which he had used in running an errand for his boss.
• "This will teach you to always take good care of property placed under your watch," he said as he directed the man to other parts of the car that needed more scrubbing.
