Chapter 26

• A week passed after I had accepted Kaiser’s preposition. I had just come back after another ‘solicitation’, and Scarlet and Shen were busy attending to some new clients that were enjoying their membership benefits in the premises.
• The rules here were simple. No protection, no banging. The same went for my solicitation. I had to ensure I was safe, and attend regular check-ups at the gynaecologist. Even if they used condoms, the possibility of getting an infection from diet or poor hygiene still persisted. Cervical cancer was a woman’s worst enemy, and I still had to ascertain my health in that aspect.
• Scarlet seemed rather tense after Jasper Lang developed a fancy to her. I dared not speak to anyone about what I encountered a month ago, but it didn’t trigger me as much as seeing Syl near the Darkside. I knew there were unanswered questions in my head, and chose to not dwell in them, but instead focus myself on my job responsibilities.
