I quickly took my shower for the second time that evening and raked through my wardrobe for something presentable to wear. I produced a short turquoise strapless gown laced at the waistline, that Sty had given to me on my birthday and rushed to brush an iron through it. I haven't worn the gown since the birthday outing that Sty took me, so it was all rumpled up.
I pulled my long hair up in a ponytail and flipped on flat black sandals. I checked my face in the mirror and noticed my lips were looking dry so I applied some gloss to make them appear moist and plumpy. I ran to Luke's room and woke him from his long slumber. After cleaning his face, we went downstairs to meet with the others.
They were already eating when we reached so I sat Luke down and scooped his portion of food into his plate for him. I went to the kitchen to bring his routine apron which I placed around his neck. He smiled his thanks to me and started eating still looking drowsy. Today must have been tough on him.
“Your food tastes great Miss Clarke,” he complimented looking up at me with a smile. I smiled back at him.
