Chapter 80 Hopes And Dreams

  • GENESIS
  • Returning to the house, I went up to my room without paying much attention to anyone, even when I noticed the questioning looks in Margaret's and the others' eyes. I ignored the taunting and scared looks and remained in my own little world, where I could hope for a better day. I could live my life in peace, without fear that a supposed mistress, with the help of my husband, would want to kill me. I could live now and enjoy the life I was forced to live. But most importantly, this hope, this new feeling, came with a new life. Every girl's dream was to be happy, regardless of their goals and ambitions. Money-minded or not, all of us wanted to have that fairy tale wedding. We wanted a loving husband who would shield us, protect us, and love us like no other person could. We wanted a man who we could call our own, a fairy tale prince who would sweep us off our feet. Rich or poor, every girl wished for a Cinderella story. A Disney story of our own, just like the ones we see in movies. We wanted that family, I wanted that family. Maybe I was thinking too fast, or ahead of myself, but deep down, I hoped that this apology and new beginning could lead me to everlasting happiness. Maybe, just maybe. But it wasn't so bad to hope.
  • "Ma'am," Margaret's familiar voice called out from the door, and I turned to her.
