Chapter 3: Detention

  • Hannah’s POV
  • I still didn’t have enough courage to look in their direction, but then I felt the footsteps retreating, becoming fader and fader, and then I finally looked at Samantha.
  • “Oh god, now you should really get over him,” Sam said.
  • “Yaar! You should be supporting me, and what the hell are you doing to your friend. I mean, did you see that girl? I haven’t seen here around yet”
  • “Yup, she has been transferred along with Ryan”
  • “WHAT THE HELL”
  • “No. No hell if you don’t behave like a crazy teenager!”
  • “I’m a teenager for god’s sake!”
  • “Fine, Fine. Just you know, he has a girlfriend, so it’s a dead-end”
  • “No. I don’t feel that girl is okay”
  • “Ya sure. Why would you, you have an everlasting crush on him!!”
  • “You know that’s not the reason, so stop nagging”
  • “You know I don’t approve of you having that stupid crush on some guy from your fucking 9 years!”
  • “You know I don’t care if you approve that or not!”
  • “Oh, believe me, you do”
  • “Well, whatever, but I want to do some research on that girl”
  • “Fine. Fine. Your detective is here, anyway” she said.
  • Yes, I know she’s a little irritating, doesn’t like me having a no-leg-and-hand-crush on a boy who vanished from my life after 4 years of our friendship, and remember just nothing of it, but she’s good. She has been always there for me, and she’s reliable. And as she herself told, a great detective she really is.
  • “Then find about that girl,” I said and we went back to our class, separately of course.
  • ________________________________________
  • He is sitting behind me. That girl, whose name is Evelyn I suppose, is sitting in the third row, from ours. But they are constantly staring at each other and smiling. Yea, I noticed that a few times. But then I noticed Evelyn. She looked at me with a scowl on her face. Then she smirked, but I didn’t understand anything. I looked in front when Samantha said something slowly.
  • “Why are you two sharing glances, don’t tell me she’s gay and you’re picking on her” she whispered, and I cringed at that thought, but suddenly burst out laughing at picturing her as one.
  • YES, I freaking burst out laughing like a freak.
  • “What’s so funny, Ms. Quinn” the teacher snapped at me, and I could do nothing, but got embarrassed.
  • “If you got nothing to say, then leave!” she yelled and I left the class, I knew I just got detention.
  • _____________________________________
  • I was in the detention room, covered by boring books all over when I heard footsteps. I was happy, Sam is here.
  • “Woah. How come you-” my happiness faded when a pair of legs followed her, and it was none other than Ryan’s.
  • “What the-” I whispered to Sam. Ryan gave me a smirk and said, “Hey, Ms. QUINN” he said in the same manner the teacher said, and it didn’t feel bad.
  • “Detention on the first day, huh?” I said to him, in a friendly manner, as I forgot that we aren’t even friends.
  • “That’s the way to spend time with someone,” he said and I was damn sure who’s coming inside right now.
  • Evelyn.
  • “You should give us some private time, Ms. Quinn,” he said.
  • Not wanting to end my conversation, and not wanting him to call me Ms. Quinn, I told him my freaking name.
  • “Hannah,” I said. “I have a name, Hannah, as in Hannah Quinn”
  • “Hannah” he repeated my name, and then it struck to me, I should’ve changed my name. What if he remembers everything?
  • “Easy name” he continued and smiled. “So, as I was saying, will you, I suppose please, give us some privacy and please, again, would go to another room?” he said with a smirk.
  • Samantha was dumbstruck. WHAT THE HELL DID HE JUST SAY?
  • “It’s a freaking detention room, mister!” I said to him, “I ain’t going anywhere for your stupid private time!” I said and he was shocked that I could say something like that.
  • “Woah. Easy, girl!” he said and smirked. “You don’t wanna leave me alone, do you?” he asked and that question had a hint of truth, but that was embarrassing.
  • “There’s nothing like that, mister, so stop dreaming and go to your freaking girlfriend, she is standing at the gate, and she’s looking at you just like a slut!!” I blurted out, and then I knew that I said just what I wanted, but I shouldn’t, because he was burning in anger now.
  • “TAKE YOUR BLOODY WORDS BACK” he sort-of commanded.
  • “I... I won’t” I said as I saw her smirking.
  • “I’m warning you of the consequences, Ms. Hannah Quinn!” he said.
  • NOW. WHAT. IS. THIS.
  • “W..what? what will you do??” I asked, and Sam kept a hand on my shoulder, partially telling me to back down, but I wouldn’t.
  • “You’re a bitch” he cursed. “Let me deal with you like one,” he said and then took out his phone, and before I could even understand what he was doing, he clicked a photo of me.
  • “HEY!!! That’s illegal!!! YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TAKE PHOTO OF ANY GIRL LIKE THAT!!” I yelled, but he smirked. He then gestured for Evelyn to come near him.
  • “Do a little editing, babes” he said, and then she took his phone. I tried to stop her, but Ryan stood like a freaking wall between us, and just in a fraction of minutes, she was done.
  • “Now, do you like that, Ms. Quinn!?!” he said and showed a picture.
  • OH. MY. GOD.
  • If that gets out, I’ll surely die of embarrassment!!!
  • “Hey, you, delete it right now!!” I yelled.
  • “Scared, are you?” he said and smirked. “Behave then, and apologize to her right now,” he said, and I had no other bloody option than to apologize. “Sorry,” I said, she smirked, followed by Ryan’s smirk, and then they deleted that fucking picture, but no, it is not the end.
  • I’ll make her pay.
