Chapter 6 The Journey

  • I could hear Shani was arguing with the fallen angel, but I was done with everything at this stage. I wanted everything to be done with.
  • "But you! I don't care that you're the king of hell. He's hurting badly... very very bad, you need to..." she was defending me, and that's how I know that he was the King of hell.
  • I decided to block their conversation and get back to my task. I was opening my book, then laid out all of my stuff on the dining table. I didn't stop, I didn't look at them. But the memory of him would sneak up to me from time to time.
  • Wiping my tears roughly, I took a deep breath then start placing everything on the table and continue mixing all the ingredients.
  • I could feel the King was watching me, and I try to ignore him. Maybe he would kill me when I'm done with the task. But I surely didn't expect him, to come and invade my space.
  • The king's aura was evident, his proximity made me shudder, and my wolf growls to his presence as if to warn me of the danger. But I was ignoring him.
  • I have been ignoring my wolf since he has insisted, that I should go back to the pack. While in truth I didn't feel like I belong there anymore. Not without my Don.
  • Fuck!
  • I was about to get teary again when I feel his wing wrapped my side. I tilted my head and faced him, he was taller than me. He was making me look up at him.
  • "You will be just fine my beautiful human..." he said as he touches my jaw and caressed it slowly.
  • It felt like ages since I was touch in a sensual manner. It startled me, while my wolf kept on growling on the inside.
  • I quickly stepped aside and started chanting the spell, trying my best to ignore him. Then I asked Shani and her man, whom I was introduced earlier as Arkael to come closer to me.
  • "I guess we're doing this now..." she told Arkael and took his hand to follow her.
  • "You're coming with us, we will finish your revenge and give you closure." The king said to me as if he could easily read my mind.
  • A portal dimension slowly started to appear at the corner of Shani's dining area. I was tired but nodded my head to him, and follow everyone into the portal.
  • The opening of the portal had taken half of my energy already. Then the power I need to conjure and shelter everyone, from the harsh hell environment was consuming more of my power.
  • Shani was at my side moments later trying to give me her energy, she said that I was looking very pale. I didn't have the energy for my usual witty remarks to her, so I just smile at her.
  • I was done, I was welcoming the exhaustion. Silently hoping that she would stop giving me her energy, and everybody would finally let me be and let me drifted out of this world already.
  • "That won't be necessary Shani, we're about to reach the kingdom. I'll take him there myself so he could rest. Arkael, I'll see you later in the main hall. I'll let the guards know you're coming."
  • That was the last words that I hear, smiling as I finally fall and darkness took me in. I could feel the fluffy pair of wings that breaks my fall and smile when I felt it was too heavy for me to open my eyes.
  • "Don...take me, please...I don't want to live without you..." I managed to say my words, mumbling hoping that the Gods would hear me and finally end my torture. I could feel the cold air and the gust of wind, but my eyes were still too heavy and my energy was fading fast.
  • I could feel myself being laid down on a very plush bed, I tried to open my eyes but I was still very lethargic.
  • Until I finally managed to do it, and see Shani was sitting by the bed. "Hey there...how are you feeling?" she asked caressing my hair.
  • "Where am I?" I asked while trying to sit up and rest my back on the intricately designed headboard.
  • "Well...apparently you're in King Ranulf's bed." She winked at me playfully, I could feel the heat creep up from my neck to my cheeks.
  • Wait. Why did he put me here? this is not right.
  • "Hey it's okay, he put you here himself. We don't want to appear rude, and you're helping him. Just think of it as his gesture for thanking you."
  • "But I caused this..." I was suddenly hit with the realization. I was still fucking alive.
  • "Sshh...just rest, you need your strength, you collapsed earlier. Here Muriel and Sabina brought you these." She introduced me to the beautiful nymphs. They presented me with a whole meal with a goblet of what looked like red wine. Shani must've informed them to get it for me, for my recuperation process.
  • We talked as I try to eat the very red meat, which was surprisingly good and I was surprisingly hungry. I could feel my body was gathering its strength again.
  • Then the nymphs left us, giving us some privacy saying that they would be back later for Shani.
  • I finally finished my meal and wine. And was feeling much better, then I was starting to get sleepy.
  • "You should rest my dear Rain, I love you. I'm sorry that I wasn't there for you." She said caressing my short strands.
  • "It's not your fault, I was too sad to call you..." I was taken back to my memory, as the sadness quickly came to me.
  • "Sshh...why don't you rest? Arkael and Ranulf are currently taking care of things. Let's get you rested so we can get out of this hell." She smiled, making me smile back at her.
  • Moments later I drifted off to sleep. I don't know how long I have fallen asleep until I was awakened by the sounds of people talking. I opened my eyes and saw him talking to another being also with wings, but his looked more of a greyish color.
  • He looked at me, then gave the king what looked like a vial and a goblet. I could see them talk but couldn't hear them clearly.
  • You know, I was extremely disappointed knowing that I was not dead. I was actually happy, thinking that I would see him again. It took all the strength that I have to hold my tears, but the disappointment made me wet my cheek.
  • "You will be just fine my little wolf, come drink this. Maven, our demon sorcerer made this special for you." The king was by my side, and he lowered himself down and wiped my wet cheek with his thumb.
  • I was not feeling it, as I took my knees and hugged myself trying to make myself disappeared.
  • "What's your name?" he asked, while he easily pulled me up resting my back to his naked chest.
  • "Rain." I sighed feeling his warmth.
  • "Beautiful name, you also smell like it." He said giving me the vial and the goblet, he was not taking no for an answer. And you know...I was too tired to fight back. So I drink the content of the vial and wash it down with what tastes like a very fine and expensive wine.
  • "What's yours?" though Shani had already told me, but I asked back anyway not knowing exactly why.
  • "Ranulf." He whispered. His breath was warm against my ear, making me feel things I shouldn't be feeling...
  • "I should not be here...in your room, I should..."
  • "You will, in my room, in my bed, you will be mine."
  • I tried to move away from him, but his wings were keeping me close to him.
  • "I can't, this...this is not right..." I finally faced him, but my heart beats faster when his hand trailed to my jaw and his thumb caressed my lips.
  • "Nothing is ever right. But with you...I just have to..." he looked at me intensely, then lower himself down and put his lips against mine.
  • My wolf growled in protest, but I melted instantly in his kiss. He groaned and pulled me flat to his chest.
  • At that moment I forget about anything else, I was surrendering myself to him. Our lips molded as I open them, and his tongue tasted me in the most sensual ways making me finally moaned his name.
  • "You...will be...mine..." his words were harsh but seductive at the same time. With that last word, he pulled away from our heated kiss, his hand cupped my jaw and caressed my swollen lips. He looked at me then kissed my temple before he finally pulled me in to rest on his chest.
  • "Sleep little wolf, I'll take care of you..."
  • I didn't know how, but I did sleep soundly on his naked chest. The best sleep I've had in months.
