Chapter 5 MYSTIFIED

  • NOTE: The places written in this story are fictional.
  • In a dark green mansion situated at the outskirt of crestfield city. Four blood sucking creatures stood at the dull looking living room, none of them ready to break the silence that had evolved the room.
  • Damon looked at the window staring at nothing in particular. He kept a calm and composed manner but his mind were occupied with different thoughts, thoughts of that woman.
  • "You almost killed her." Connor spoke finally breaking the silence. He glanced at Damon who didn't seem to care about what he had just said but before he could open his mouth to continue, Caesar cut in.
  • "It would have been better if he killed her." Caesar blurted with his voice filled with so much irritation. "That woman deserved death, Damon should have finished her once and for all." He added before taking his seat.
  • "But killing her wouldn't change anything. Since she got reincarnated as a human,i doubt she remember anything about her past life." Darren, the youngest among the four suggested as he trailed off his last sentence.
  • Damon scoffed at Darren's suggestion. He had waited for years, he had waited for hundreds of years for her to be reborn and she was finally here but he couldn't even kill her, after everything she had done to him? He gritted his teeth as the thought of that woman irked him. Darren was right, inasmuch as he really wanted to torture her to death and make her feel the pain he felt, he really wanted to end her life and give her a really painful death but he couldn't. She didn't remember a thing, that was why he spared her because killing her would be a waste. If he killed her, he wouldn't be able to break the curse. The main reason he was after her life was to break the curse she casted on him three hundred years ago.
  • They heard the sound of her banging on the door of the room he had locked her.
  • April woke up only to find herself in a strange room. It looked more like an abandoned store room. She shivered as she felt the cold coming from the opened window, the floor was also cold that April thought she would die of cold if she stayed in this room much longer.
  • She touched her neck, she could still feel the pain from the strangling. April tried to calm down to process everything that had occured. The man with red eyes came to kill her but thankfully she was still alive. She remembered what he said to her that he was here to kill her. Why was he after her life? She couldn't help but be mystified at how hellbent he was in killing her?
  • If he brought her here, that meant he was probably here. April stood up and banged the door. She had to see him, that demon. She had to see him to ask him why he was after her life.
  • And just as April had expected, she felt his presence and turned immediately to see him giving her deadly glares that were enough to crumble all the the confidence she had built up to question him. Watching him stand at the window, she felt like she was a prey waiting for her fated death in the hand of a dangerous predator in front of her.
  • Damon leaned against the wall with his hands in his pocket, seemingly observing her.
  • "Scared?" That single word was akin to a firework, startling her all of a sudden.
  • April swallowed her saliva as she tried to build up some confidence in her, even if It's just an ounce of confidence left in her.
  • "W....w...who are you? Why are you doing this to me? What do you want from me? Why are you after my life? Why are you trying to kill me?" She voiced out all the questions in her mind. She couldn't help but wonder how her life turned out this way. Why was her life always so messed up? She hadn't even deal with the bad energy around her and now she had to add this mysterious creature to her messed up life. All she wanted was an answer, an answer to her questions. She waited patiently for an answer but the demon didn't utter a word, not even a single word.
  • April sighed as she bit her lower lip fighting back the tears that were welled up in her eyes. This mysterious creature kept testing her patience and she couldn't take it anymore."Let me out of here, you monster. Let me go!" April said in a loud cry as those tears she had been fighting back kept pouring. What right does he have to mess with her life? What right does he have to decide her death?
  • The demon gave out a wicked laughter, a laughter filled with mockery and it irked her, it irked her that she clenched her fist wanting to punch that annoying handsome face of his.
  • His deep voice suddenly echoed in the room. "It's not time for you to cry, Margaux." He said in a low infuriating slow manner.
  • April blinked as she was mystified by the name he had just called her.
  • "You haven't even started paying for the sins you committed in the past so you have no right to cry right now, Margaux."
