Castel walked up the stairs to his room feeling angry. The party was finally over, Javier and his bride had retired to their room, the guests were leaving and the few people left downstairs were the cleaners. Castel was glad he was finally going to be alone for the night. Janelle had stayed glued to him the whole day and it had taken everything in him not to lash out at Graciela’s aggravating comments. And his mother marking his every move annoyed him above everything else. Despite everything that happened that night to piss him off, Castel was mostly angry at himself. He had been a coward and chosen to hurt Emerald. He could’ve handled both situations better today, but he had chosen the option with the least consequences on his part like a coward. Castel couldn’t get over the hurt in her eyes and he knew he had really messed up anything that could have ever happened between them. And he had never regretted anything like he did now.
“Fuck!” He groaned angrily immediately he closed the door behind him in his room. “What have i done?” He had never felt as shitty as he did in that moment. He wanted more than anything to make things right with Emerald. But how?
“I’m very sure I wore them today mother.” He heard Graciela say outside his door. “Yes, i brought them school.”
His door flung open and his mother and sister walked in, still in their dresses.
“Hey, what the hell?” He exclaimed with annoyance.
“Language Castel.” His mother said in her usual calm voice but he could see the warning in her blue eyes.
