Chapter 27 Found, Lost

• Lexi toured the streets of Strongfall alone under the sunny sky, unaware that she was being followed. Karl had appointed a hundred men to look after her, and these men, disguised as citizens of Strongfall, were scattered all around Lexi, heavily armed, going wherever she went, and making sure she never saw them twice.
• Her head was wrapped under a white linen, and as a married woman, she was properly covered. The unmarried ladies, Lexi knew were the ones who exposed their bodies. They wore skirts, and bras, moving freely, and exposed under the heat. She didn't have their privilege, else, she would have gone half naked due to the sweltering. Nothing a cool bath wouldn't solve after now. And maybe, an intimate time with Karl if he was back from the Queen's palace.
• Getting to the market, the traders called out to her, but seeing whatever they sold had no interest to her, she smiled, shook her head at each one, and went her way. Karl always told her to carry a purse whenever she was going to the library, and this she never failed to do.
