Chapter 9
- “I’m sorry about yesterday,” I say to Ben when I get into his car the next morning. “It’s ok.” He smiles and says nothing else. “Why aren’t you in school today? Not that I don’t appreciate you driving me up and down.” I ask. I know I’m prying but it’s just curious.
- “My mom had another relapse. I asked for time off, they said it was fine.”
- “Is that why you’ve been so quiet lately?” I fold my hands in my lap.
