Chapter 6

• I’ve never been more nervous in my life. I want to avoid this guy at all costs and here I am getting ready to go on a date with him. How is this even my life right now? What I heard in my eavesdropping this afternoon is still floating around in my head. What did they mean “...if this is successful”? What needs to be successful? Were they talking about me? Are they planning something? My stomach twists as I consider what that might look like. A possible sick prank where they both leave me and Blaze to go to this dinner by ourselves? I’d no sooner die. 
• Heather had gotten me a phone yesterday when she asked why she can’t seem to call me. I told her I lost my phone. She already pre-programmed everyone's numbers in it before giving it to me. I take it out and text Bennet. 
• “Hey, ready for tonight?”I watch the three dots as he types.
