Chapter 31
- “Amy, you need to make your peace. It won’t be long now,” I say. We’re sitting on the bench in the garden behind our house.
- “You’re being dramatic Alex. I’m sure she’ll be fine,” she swings her ankle-crossed legs back and forth the way she used to do as a kid. I can tell she’s nervous. We have a twin radar. I might not always know what she’s thinking, but I can mostly tell what she’s feeling.
- “Not according to the nurse. But I think you already knew about it,” she turns her face away from me.
