Chapter 27
- The room is painted bright white and furnished in glossy white marble tabletops and a white, leather lounge suite. A large flat screen is mounted to the left wall and to the right of it is a wall of glass overlooking a magnificent view of a city - it’s such a real replica that if I wasn’t absolutely certain that we were underground, I’d wonder which city we were in. The enormity of the space is overwhelming. I wonder how many rooms the structure has.
- I find my suitcase in my room and start unpacking. I don’t know how long we’ll be here and I hate living out of suitcases. With all the travelling I’ve been doing, you’d think I’d be used to it. I lie my head on the soft pillow.
- A soft knock on the door wakes me. “Thought I’d come search for your room,” he shrugs “for security, you know?” I smile. Ever the polite Alex. “You know that this place is probably more secure than some of the highest security agencies in the world? Have you seen the gates?”
