Chapter 23 The soul-eaters

• Vladimir smiled when he saw Calista smiling in her sleep. He kept on hugging her in his arms, staring at her face with his gentle eyes. “She is so beautiful. She has bewitched me with her charm,” he said in his mind.
• He suddenly felt something dark and evil approaching and surrounding him. He got out of bed and left Calista on the blanket. He then put on his clothes and walked to the front door.
• The two black-robed vampires standing guard at the door bowed politely when they saw him. “My prince. Soul-eaters, they are here,” one of his men said with a wary face. Vladimir smiled as he continued to stare across the street.
