Delilah swallowed, taking a step back which made her head hit Devin's chest.
With a finger, he pushed her forward but she moved into his chest again, staring at the furious, glaring golden orbs before her.
Devin pushed her head forward again with a finger and this time, firmer which made her bump into Ian's chest, Delilah and the others eyes widened immediately at what happened, she didn't even wait before jumping away from him.
Ian stared down at his chest, he was wearing a white, baggy shirt on but now, it had a red, lipstick mark like a decoration on it, all thanks to Delilah.
" I'm.... I'm sorry, I'm really sorry." She stuttered, clasping her palms together as she saw the way he was glaring disgustingly at the mark on his chest.
" Is she sane?" Ian hissed angrily, directing his questions at no one exactly.
" She's not, Alpha. She's too much of an insane person, I don't think she's alright." That was Devin and Delilah felt like slapping his head.
Ian averted his gaze to her and she faced the ground immediately, playing with her fingers nervously. Somehow, it always felt ticklish whenever she looks into those bright eyes of his and like someone was tickling her, a giggle suddenly left her lips.
Clyde cracked but dare not laugh out, Cosgrove gave her a strange stare while Ziko and Devin had the same expression Clyde had on. What exactly was the thing that was making her giggle? She didn't know who Ian really was, does she?
Apart from the golden eyed man who was staring at Delilah with a dim look, another was in the room, a black haired Carter staring at Delilah with a slight, curled up smile on his lips.
Unlike his friend, Ian and unlike some other Alphas, he had never seen anything wrong with having things with humans, infact, most of his past girlfriends who he had dated were humans who he usually breaks up with whenever he was leaving for the pack again.
" Look up." Ian's cold voice rang in Delilah's ears and she slowly raised her head up, her emerald eyes turning to look around the room. There, she could see Derek, Ian's Beta, Alan, his Gamma and lastly, her eyes zeroed on Carter who was sitting in a hidden corner in the large study room with his Beta, Mateo and Gamma, Kason.
There were only ten men in the room, all staring at her.
Immediately her eyes locked with his, he winked at her which made a flush appeared on her face, she even ducked her head back to the ground shyly, completely forgetting about Ian who was getting too much irritated already.
" Are you nuts?" Ian yelled at her and Delilah immediately raised her head up, staring at him with a pout and a small, silent hiss which they of course heard clearly.
" You're just being hyper for nothing, Ian. She's not like our kind neither does she know us before so don't think she'll give the same accolades others give to you, take it easy with her, Alpha." Carter scoffed and rolled his eyes from where he was.
He was already hating the hateful way Ian acted towards her.
Ian just turned to his direction without a word but his eyes already spoke, he'd get really mad if Carter interrupts in his business again.
" Look into my eyes one more time and watch me pluck them out." Ian told Delilah coldly and she shook her head with a sigh then averted her gaze to her feets again, a small chuckle was heard from Carter.
The guards and the other men knew Carter was just trying to upset the Crescent stone Alpha.
A minutes passed, two minutes passed and another and another that Delilah was already thinking they had fell asleep if not that she could still feel their piercing gazes on her body.
" Who sent you here?" Someone asked and she could recognize his voice, of course he was that egoistic, golden eyed bastard.
Her breath stuck for a moment but she managed to reply, they mustn't start to suspect her. " Sent me here? No one. Not like it's a mall where I'll be sent to get something from." She muttered the last part under her breath and a slight knock sounded on her head.
She immediately whirled around to glare at the person, Cosgrove.
" So, no one sent you here yet you were doing what at the forest?" Derek had took over the question while the others were simply watching her except Ian who was glaring at her.
" I don't understand any of what you're saying. There's virtually no one who'd sent me on an errand to see a dangerous forest at that." Delilah replied but deep down in her, she was palpitating.
They'd kill her, right? They'd kill her if she ever utters that she was trailing them, right?
" What's your name?" Derek asked after a while.
She gave a proud smile then said out aloud as if they wouldn't hear her even if she murmured it. " I'm Delilah. Delilah Paige Faye." She grinned.
" Delilah." Carter muttered the name under his breath with a nod. An appeasing name it was.
" Your name is as ugly as you are." Ian spoke up, bursting her bubbles.
" What?" Delilah screamed, looking down at herself.
Did this insolent man even know she had once won a beauty contest in a roadside food shop before? Was he serious at all?
" I agree I'm ugly." She stared down at him. " At least we look alike." Delilah added and Ian's nose flared as he furiously stood up while Carter burst out into a loud laughter.
Even Derek and Alan stared at the lady who was looking like a small ant in the front of Ian, does she know what those tiny, pouty lips of hers could get her into?
" Cosgrove." Ian called in a grave voice while the said guard bowed. " Take her to the torture room and make sure she doesn't fail to receive all kinds of tortures you know till she confesses exactly what she was doing in the forest." He ordered to their surprise.
Derek sighed. That was the reason they usually called the Alpha a bipolar behind his back, he does things that no one would expect all of a sudden, things that displeased many and pleased only a handful.
" Ian!" Carter stood up, his once happy eyes already dimmed. " What the hell is wrong with you?"
" Take her away and let the other guards attend to her." Ian ordered, returning to his desk while Delilah opened her mouth without a word with a dumbfounded look.
Torture? Tor....ture? With her frail heart? As they dragged her out of the room, her eyes locked once again with Carter's furious ones.
" What the fuck is even wrong with you? You don't think before doing things, do you? Would it be so bad of a thing if you'd just ask her whatever dumb questions you have gently instead of making her go through series of tortures?" Carter yelled at him.
" Your mindset would surely be different from mine as I don't have the golden time to waste for a human and to remind you once again, this is my pack, my rule. If you're not satisfied, then leave." Ian snapped back at him.
" What fucking rule?"
" The fucking rule I made. Don't disturb me, Carter."
" Let her go, Ian. Release her." Carter spoke up again, his hands trembling besides him.
" You're making things only harder for her, if she doesn't talk till eternity, she'll be there till eternity." Ian gave a prideful smirk then stood up and left the study with Derek while Alan hurriedly packed his stuffs on the table and left behind him.
" Alpha." Mateo called, holding Carter's shoulder. " What's your business with this girl? Do you know her from somewhere else other than here?" He squinted his eyes but Carter didn't even reply him.
" You two should stay back." Was all Carter said to them as he left the study but immediately he stepped out, Mateo and Kason ran after him.
Delilah bit her lips as she watched Cosgrove emotionlessly walking out of the torture room, leaving all with some stony faced guards who were glaring at her like she had seen or offended them before.
She was tied like a thief, no like Samson in the bible, her right hand was tied to one pillar in the room and the other to another pillar while her leg wiggled in the air.
" Please let me go, I really don't know what you're all talking about." This was the fourth time she was lying again, Cosgrove had asked her severally but this was her same replies.
She knew she'd die, infact, they wouldn't waste time chopping out her bones if they finds out she's a journalist, not just a journalist, a journalist human who had trailed them from her world to theirs just to know and spread out their secrets.
So, she dared not speak. She also know if they really decide to torture her, it'd trigger her weak heart again and it'd be very easy to lose her live in the process.
She wanted to cry but the tears in her eyes had mysteriously vanished, she was staring at the door, wishing her bit Aunt would just walk through it with a rod in her hands to beat up all these big, bad guys.
" For the last time, green eyes." A muscle rippling guy called. " Why were you trailing the Alphas to the extent of trailing them into the woods?" He asked.
" I..I.. don't know–" she started sobbing, they seemed tired of that continuous reply she was always saying.
" The whip." The muscled guy before her requested and a whip was passed to him.
Before Delilah could plead a word, the whip was raised and landed on her body, her eyes shut tight immediately at the sheer pain. She felt like she was seeing all the whole planets, a sudden headache immediately hit her.
" No. No. No. Pleaseeee." She pleaded but that didn't hinder the guy one bit as he continuously landed strokes and strokes of the deadly whip on her body. Her scream dominated the room, she screamed in pain, pleading at the same time until her voice failed her due to the much scream.
Her long eyelashes batted tiredly as they slowly jammed together, she was slowly slipping into unconsciousness.
When the last whip landed on her, she heard the door open loudly and someone rushed inside, she could hear the yells of the person, pleadings and then a loud thud but it wasn't really sounding clear in her ears.
The grip that was used to hold her both arms loosened at the same time and she fell into someone's embrace immediately, her soft cheeks lying on his own.
" I'm sorry." He muttered into her ears and she smirked weakly, so he could plead?
