Chapter 26
- “Sorry I’m late.” Tyra showed up from somewhere, and I gaped at her. She was so elegant and feminine, in a black satin dress with a v-line that had material gathered around the breasts, and gorgeous diamond earrings. Her hair was lifted up in a messy bun, and a few locks on the front were curled up. She glimpsed at Etienne, and everything in me screamed she wanted him to invite her to sit, but he didn’t even spare her a glance. On the contrary, he glanced at me mid-bite and focused on his food.
- “No, you’re just in time.” Jude smiled, and she nodded at him, walking behind me to reach the free place next to Samuel. “Wait,” Jude said, and she froze behind me. I stiffened and gave him a confused look. “Sit beside Etienne if you want to. I’m sure you have things to discuss.”
- I wanted to raise my brows, wondering what they had to talk about. Eti usually didn’t even mention her. But I knew they had some sort of connection if she had been the one he asked to help set me free.
