- Etienne examined the poor work I’d done with the towel and motioned it to me. “Thanks for that.”
- “Yeah, well, whatever.” I rolled my eyes and followed him as he closed the alcohol bottle and stepped out of the bathroom. “But if you have other scars, then… when did you join this cult? Wasn’t the other night your acceptance? I’m confused.”
- I brushed a hand through my hair as he sat down on his bed and relaxed on it.
