Chapter 2 The Killing Plan

  • "I am going to California for a week. It's for a business deal."
  • "What the hell, Levy? It's the end of the semester!" I exclaimed angrily. I hated how he put his business before his graduation, he was late already as it was because of his killing deals and now because he got so important in the murder world, he wanted to boast some more?
  • Fury blazed a trail of fire in his amber irises. "Don't talk to me like that." he snapped and placed his shades on from the gleaming sun as if nothing happened.
  • "Fine, I want to go with you then. Reserve a ticket for me." I seethed as his face contorted to annoyance. I never wanted to be the bossy girlfriend but he was going to waste his life again at the age of seventeen and I wasn't going to let him get away with that.
  • "No way in hell, Lia, your pretty ass will stay here and away from danger," he stepped closer to me like a living challenge as he continued, "I'd be a stupid fucker if I let you come with me. It's dangerous out there and you are going to be my good girl and stay here." He patted my head due to our height difference but stopped when he noticed my bitter glare.
  • That only intensified my eagerness to go on a plane with him to California.
  • "Are you going to reserve for me or should I do it myself?" I asked offhandedly. It was the first time where I felt like an unruly girl. In all my entire life, it was the first time I stepped away from my good values and my goody-two-shoes rails for him.
  • And what did he do? he simply put his helmet on, ignited his motorbike and sped away without waiting for me.
  • It was the famous Levy antics, I had known him for three years and he wasn't changing his ways any time soon. The question in my head kept repeating itself: "why do I care?" when I felt badly tempered so I decided to walk half an hour to my house to ease off the ire I felt about Levy leaving like he always did.
  • As I walked to my house, I was in the tail of my thoughts. It went something like this:
  • What was the business deal he told me about?
  • Who were the bad guys?
  • What if something happened to him there?
  • I want to kill that stupid idiot!
  • He doesn't care about me to even think about what I thought about all of this!
  • After all these three years, he put his killings before me!
  • Oh, I liked the dress at the mall for my senior prom.
  • Yum, chocolate tarts.
  • I am tired and I just want to go to sleep already.
  • What is happening to that woman moaning on the bench?
  • Oh my God, a cute puppy!
  • "Hey there, little cute puppy." I kneeled and pet the white coloured puppy as he licked my hand making me giggle from how ticklish his adorable little tongue was on my hand.
  • "His name is Handsome." the guy holding the leash around the small puppy informed.
  • "Aw, he's very adorable. Hi Handsome, it's nice to meet you." I said in a weird baby voice and the guy chuckled at me.
  • "Thanks, so how about a coffee with me?" the guy asked and my eyes looked up at the buffed-up guy that seemed to be my age, I took in his cyan-coloured eyes and smooth brown hair, he seemed to look like Snow White's lover in a Disney movie.
  • "No, thanks, I don't like coffee." I rejected kindly as I pet the little puppy one last time and stood up.
  • "Ah, the jealous boyfriend, I get it," he rolled his eyes at me and I chuckled when he busted me. "My name is Jayden, here's my number if you want to chit-chat." he held a hand with a business card on his opened palm.
  • Jayden Zanders, International Oregon Airport, terminal 3.05 at your service!
  • I was shocked at how God was willing to let me travel with Levy but amused at how fate was sicker than me. If fate was a girl, I'd be her best friend.
  • "Do you happen to know when is the next flight to California?" I asked immediately and the guy grew suspicious after he saw me intrigued by the card when I took it from his palm.
  • "Yes actually, it's today after three hours," he answered. I paled at the thought of Levy just leaving without telling me. Betrayal stung my eyes and all of my oxygen seemed to be stuck in the middle of my throat. Technically he told me but he never mentioned that it was today.
  • "Why did you ask?" he inquired with a raised eyebrow.
  • "Because my boyfriend is travelling today and I wanted to make sure that his flight time was right." I cheerfully replied.
  • "He didn't tell you." He stated suspiciously. I shook my head.
  • "He did tell me but I forgot," I assured the suspecting guy and he bided me goodbye saying he had to walk his excited puppy.
  • Levy was so going to regret this!
  • With a stubborn plan in my head, I knew what I was going to do with that rebellious boyfriend of mine. I was the epitome of Good Girl Gone Bad, I wasn't going to let him get away with this.
  • I took a look at the amusement park that was beside my house and thanked God that I had reached. My feet were filled with blisters thanks to Levy Martin and my heart ached at the disappointment Levy had put me through.
  • It was all like that when Levy got mad, he would either ditch me, scream at me or throw a tantrum about how I was supposed to be his good girl.
  • I flipped open my phone and dialled the one number that would get me out of here.
  • "Hello, how may I help you?"
  • "I want to reserve a ticket for today to California."
  • "Sure, hold on."
  • I smiled.
