• “Are the flowers on the tables ready?” I asked over the Bluetooth headset in my ear. Everybody around me was running from every which way, and I huffed. They were actually quite good at this, considering most of the personnel came over an hour late to work. I still couldn’t believe this. I’d tried so hard to get here, and at the very beginning, everything started off on the wrong foot.
• I heaved a relieved sigh. Things were according to plan now, but I was pretty sure the stress from the morning had stolen a few months of my life.
