• Ragel’s POV
• I guess it’s been four days since the Alpha had me locked up, and it was all because of that bloody human wench. I’d get her, even if it was the last thing I did. I had no issues with the Alpha; I had always remained loyal to him. I never betrayed or disrespected him, and I never planned to. He, me, and the Beta had always been tight-knit. The Alpha wasn’t one that was big on friendship and socializing, but being friends with us had not changed that, but it sometimes made him loosen up, especially if he was with us — the Beta and I. My father had been the Omega to his own father, and after the death of the Alpha’s father, it just seemed like the normal thing for both parties to do — me taking over from my father to be his Omega. For the Beta, his story was different. His father was never a Beta, nor did he come from the line of Betas; he had been just a regular werewolf, though not of low class but not of high class either. It had just been so that the Moon Goddess had smiled on him when one of the twins, who was a relative to the Alpha, said that the Moon Goddess had chosen him to be the Beta to our Alpha. The past Beta of his father’s had been a bad werewolf with wicked intentions; he’d almost succeeded in his evil agenda to betray the Alpha and overthrow him from the position. If not for the timely intervention of the Beta and a little help from me, the greedy old bastard would have succeeded. He had been caught and tried.
• The penalty for treason was death; he’d paid for his crime, but the Moon Goddess had stripped his family of the Beta-ship. Hence, his son, who was supposed to be the next Beta, was barred. Alpha Arthur had been angry and almost ordered the execution of his two sons and wife, but Aunt Mia had stepped in and begged on their behalf; they were innocent and had no part in the plan. They had eventually been given a place among the low-class werewolves, which was better than being chased out of the pack.
