Chapter 8 First Kiss

• It's always difficult to make a new start but a smile can make it better.

• RAIN POV
• It's been one month since Amber has been in the hospital and today she is going to be discharged. But the bad part is that I won't be going back to my home rather we are going to Damien's place. All of Amber and my stuff has already been transferred to Damien's house.
• I looked at my daughter to see her jumping on the bed. She is way to excited to go back home but she doesn't know the twist.
• "Sit down baby or you are going to fall.", I said to Amber as I pulled her down, making her sit. She gave me pout and I chuckled at her cuteness.
• I looked behind me to see Nana entering the room. She looked paler than usual and I very well know the reason. Her daughter and grand daughter were moving out with a dangerous man.
• She walked slowly towards us but before she could reach me Amber stood up and rushed to the corner of the bed wanting a hug.
• "Oh, my dear chocolate.", Nana cooed her as she embraced her. Tears were glittering in her eyes but she didn't let them fall. She wanted to say good bye to us in a happy manner.
• Though we both lived in the same town but I don't how long it would take before we get to meet her again.
• After a minute she let Amber go as she made Amber sit on the bed. Amber crawled back towards her pillow as she quietly laid down. Maybe she could feel the sorrow that hung in the room.
• "Oh my poor baby.", she said as she took me in her warm embrace. I felt tears gathering in my own eyes. I will miss you Nana. I really would.
• Soon she let me go as she sat back on the chair next to mine. I quietly sat down and waited for her to proceed.
• "Are you ready for this new journey?", Nana asked as I shook my head.
• I will never be ready for this new journey. Living under the same roof as of the Beast won't be a easy job. I still fear about the well-being of my daughter and after his outburst a few days ago I am even more scared.
• I sat next to Amber as I fed her a bowl of oatmeal. It was a difficult job but I some how managed.
• I heard the click of the door and saw Damien enter the room walking like he owned the place.
• "Good morning.", Damien stated as he neared us.
• "Morning.", I whispered and looked down. I didn't want to meet his glaze. Their was something about him that made me cower. When ever I see him, I just hope he would disappear. But that was not the case.
• I drew my courage as I looked at him. I heard him sigh and rub the back of his neck. I looked at Amber to see her watching us intensely as if we were the most interesting thing on Earth.
• "Do you want something?", I asked him while rubbing my palms. Why am I this nervous. Stupid body!
• "No. I actually came here to meet Amber.", Damien told me as he turned in her direction.
• As soon as Amber heard her name her ears perked. Curious girl! She looked at me as soon as Damien started moving in her direction.
• "Do you want a chocolate?", Damien asked her but she didn't make any gestures. She sat still like a statue.
• Damien tried holding her hand but she pulled it back and rushed in my direction. Before she could fall from the bed I caught her.
• I placed her in between my arms as she coiled on my chest. My poor baby. I patted her back in a soothing manner to calm her down. She wasn't crying but she was still scared.
• I looked up at Damien to see him run his hand through his hair. His jaw was clenched and so were his palms. He glared in Amber's direction. How dare he!
• Before I could do something he picked Amber from my arms. As soon as realisation hit her she started throwing her arms and legs.
• "Damien, what are you doing? Put her down.", I hissed at him. My worries increased at she started crying.
• "She need to understand that I am her father.", Damien yelled making her cry even more.
• "Give her to me.", I stated as I tried to take her in my arms but Damien's height was not helping at all.
• "No.", Damien roared as he turned Amber in his arm so that she was facing him.
• It was only then Damien realised that she was crying. Being mute she couldn't make any noise but the tears rolling down her cheeks was enough proof. As soon as he realised that he gave back Amber in my arms.
• I eagerly took her and calmed her down by singing a lullaby. Soon Amber was in deep slumber.
• "I am sorry. I didn't mean...", Damien started but I cut him off.
• "If you can't make her love you then don't make her hate you to.", I hissed in a low voice.
• "I-I....", Damien started but shut his mouth.
• In the mean while I placed a sleeping Amber on the bed. I placed a kiss on her forehead as I rubbed the wetness on her cheeks.
• "I just wanted her affection.", Damien said with a sigh.
• Affection. Is this the way to gain affection. For gaining affection you yourself need to be affectionate.
• "But this was no way.", I told him while crossing my hands on my chest.
• Damien looked down and nodded his head. He then went near Amber and placed a kiss just like mine of her forehead. Then without saying a word he left the room. Maybe he was guilty. But wait can a Beast be guilty for something?
• "Rain you can always come back to us.", Nana whispered.
• I nodded my head as I let go of a sigh. I don't even know how difficult are things going to be for me.
• "Give me your hand.", Nana asked me. I placed my palm in the front.
• Nana placed a envelope on my palm.
• "What's this?", I asked her as I opened the envelope. I looked inside the envelope to find in some cash.
• "I can't take it Nana.", I told her.
• "Rain it is just the right amount of money you will need in case of emergency. Keep it. If not for you then for Amber.", Nana insisted.
• God this woman can be so stubborn at times. Not being in a mood to fight I placed the envelope in my bag.
• "It's time to leave.", Sam said while entering the room followed by Nanu and Damien.
• I nodded my head as I got up from my sit. I looked at the bed to find Amber fast asleep. Maybe when we're taking she slept.
• Sam went to pick her up but Damien stopped him.
• "I will carry her.", Damien stated as he picked her up. A small smile tugged on his lips as he picked her up.
• Soon we were standing in the parking.
• "I will miss you doll.", Sam stated as he hugged me. Same was with Nana and Nanu. Both of them had tears in their eyes.
• "Let's go.", Damien stated. I nodded my head as I sat in the car. Damien placed a sleeping Amber in my lap.
• Damien started the car and soon we were on the road.
• I looked outside to see a black car following close behind us. Damien took three turns and still they were following us.
• "Damien...", I started.
• "Hmm.....", Damien turned in my direction paying me attention.
• "A black car is following us.", I told him.
• "I know. Don't worry they are my men. Relax.", Damien said.
• "But why we need people following us?", I asked him confused.
• "Protection darling.", he stated and I nodded my head.
• "Do you want to stop somewhere to have something?", Damien asked and I shook my head.
• A yawn made me look down at my lap to see Amber starring at me.
• "Hello baby.", I cooed while tickling her stomach making her giggle.
• "Good morning Amber.", Damien said softly as he looked in our direction. For the first time I say warmth in those grey orbs.
• Amber looked in his direction and then at me. She was looking at me for help whether to do something or not. She shyly peeked through my arms in Damien's direction.
• "Say hello.", I urged to Amber.
• She shyly lifted her hand and waved in his direction. Damien looked at her and a small smile tugged on his lips.
• "Will you like a chocolate?", Damien asked to which Amber nodded her head.
• The car can to a stop. I looked forward to seeing the traffic lights have changed and the pedestrians were crossing the road. I looked at Damien to find him looking for a chocolate in his pocket. Soon he took out a chocolate from his pocket and handed it to Amber.
• "Say thank you.", I told Amber to which she kissed my cheek. I chuckled at her cuteness.
• "Not to me silly. Say thank you to Damien.", I told her.
• "Bring your cheek near her.", I asked Damien and he did as told.
• Amber leaned forward and kissed her cheek. Damien looked at her in awe. Amber placed the chocolate in my hand signalling me to open it. I agreed to her and opened the chocolate.
• I looked at Damien to find him still looking at her. Soon horning from the back started and this brought Damien out of his daze. The signal has changed but Damien didn't move his car so people at the back started horning.
• Damien then started the car and led us to his home.
• Soon the car reached the posh area of the town with large mansions and big gardens. He took a cut and soon we stood in front of a huge mansion. Seeing the car the gates of the mansion opened automatically.
• I took a look at the garden and it was damn beautiful. Amber is going to love it. Soon the car stood in front of the mansion.
• "Sit.", Damien ordered as he fluently moved around and opened the door for us. I set Amber down and myself got down. Damien passed the keys to a man as he led us inside.
• "Shall I pick her up?", Damien asked me.
• What could I say. I know he just wanted to hold Amber but I knew it well that she won't allow it. Amber was still weary of Damien.
• "Let her walk.", I told him and he just nodded his head.
• I looked around the house to see everything was simple yet elegant and screamed luxury.
• "Shall I give you a tour of the house.", Damien asked me to which I nodded my head well I don't have anything better to do.
• After forty five minutes the tour was finally over. We looked at Damien's room, his study, library and rooms like servant quarter and store room.
• "This is Amber's room. ", Damien said while opening the door. The room was twice the size of my room and the theme was pink princess.
• Amber let go of my hand and rushed inside the room. The bed was in shape of a castle with a slide. Amber rushed through the stair and got down by sliding from the slide. As soon as she got down she started clapping.
• "You like it?", I asked Amber to which she nodded and rushed in my direction. I got on my knees to catch her running form. She hugged me tightly.
• I felt Damien getting on his knees next to me as he looked in our direction.
• He removed Amber's arm from my neck as he brought her to himself. Now Amber was standing in front of Damien.
• "You liked it?", Damien softly asked her to which she nodded her head and placed a kiss on his cheek.
• "God I can never get use to your kisses.", Damien whispered.
• Suddenly we heard rushed footsteps coming in our direction.
• "Boss it is an emergency."
