Chapter 6 Zero: Twitching For Attention

  • "Well, then I guess your boyfriend's one of those hot-headed kids, huh? Whatever. I will introduce myself and then be on my way. My name is not of importance to you, but you may call me Trickster if you wish. I am a master thief and master trickster. I chose to help you two on this... dreary day because I thought I should do something noble for a change. Now, tell me, what are two Goldenwatch soldiers doing here?" Trickster questioned.
  • Turstin glared at the thief, sheathing his weapon, moving past him and further into the city.
  • Come on, Roselia; We don't have time for this stupidity," Turstin shouted.
  • "I apologize for his behavior... he usually isn't like this. I thank you for saving me. Normally I'd be the one to take you and any other criminals to prison, but... you saved me twice, so I will allow you to live. Please take care." Roselia spoke, standing from the mud-filled ground and moving after Turstin.
  • Trickster raised an eyebrow and shrugged.
  • "Eh, whatever floats your boat. At least I'm not going to prison, haha."
  • Trickster moved towards the exit of the city but halted, listening carefully. The words that echoed from Turstin caused a spark of curiosity. Trickster spoke softly but loud enough for the duo to hear him, "Please repeat what you said, sir."
  • Turstin stopped, turned, and glanced back, glaring at the criminal.
  • "I said... the next time I see you, you won't be left off the hook as Roselia allowed today. Etch that into your head, criminal. Till then, take care,"
  • As Turstin moved along, he paused, speaking in a low tone enough for Trickster to hear him,
  • "And thank you for saving Roselia."
  • Surprise filled both Roselia's and Trickster's body. They each did not see that coming. His words shocked them in place momentarily. Roselia merely blushed to know that Turstin did care for her. The thief chuckled, shrugging, writing down every word Turstin uttered.
  • "Aaaand, thank you, stated Mister Turstin." Trickster laughed out loud with that, moving out of Silverstone far from sight.
  • The roars up above continued, though the rain didn't come down. Turstin, who memorized the map given to him by that mysterious man, halted, scanning the area. He turned back and leaned against the shattered wall that stood before him.
  • "Let's take a small break here; no one should bother us," Turstin spoke, his eyes settled on the map only to move over Roselia.
  • "Yeah, let's rest some."
  • Roselia witnessed the city at its lowest. Bodies remained dead across the city center. The high wall that once was up and well now was missing half of itself. To think the city was active and always running with criminals. Though they were criminals, they all had something in common, that being life. Roselia understood this and sighed. She shifted herself over to sit near Turstin, pulling her exposed knees up to her face. Turstin's left arm shivered nonstop. Roselia noticed it, and tears once again flowed down her eyes.
  • "Turstin, are you going to be alright? I can't stand seeing you in pain. If you cannot control that arm, will we be able to accomplish this stranger's mission?" Roselia questioned.
  • Turstin gazed down at Roselia and sighed softly, calming down, yet still, his left bandaged-up arm remained twitching.
  • "I felt useless back there, Rose. I mean... I am nothing without this arm... and I was told not to use it. If it's the only power source and I can't even use it to protect you, what good am I?"
  • At this point, Turstin slid down the wall, arms resting on his knees. He sat there, staring at the ground in front of him. Roselia crawled over to Turstin, laying his head down on her bare legs. She looked him in his eyes and smiled softly.
  • "Turstin, you don't need that arm to be successful. You have accomplished more than any soldier has. You and I will put an end to corruption. Please believe me." She cooed, moving down to kiss his forehead.
  • Turstin sat up from her leg and stood stretching. He unsheathed one of his swords, running to his left and over the piled-up rocks from the wall.
  • "King Moira has deceived the people and his soldiers. It is a shame that even Aden has fallen into this darkness. Aquarius and Gale may have also fallen. But you are right; no matter who they are, we will create peace without this arm of mine. Now let's get going. The first dawn is approaching." Turstin instructed.
  • Roselia nod, standing from the ground. She dusted herself off and drew her whip.
  • "Let's get going, Turstin of Goldenwatch. One of the greatest knights to live."
  • Roselia granted him a warm smile before falling behind him.
  • There is no such thing as light here in the realm of chaos. Here, we strive from the darkness that roams with the ultimate intent of smothering you into oblivion. Your only religion revolves around the chaos realm and HER. Your only deity is HER. Live, breathe, acknowledge the reality that is... Catastrophe.
  • Verse 10 of 33 the Prophecy known only as Catastrophe.
