Chapter 5 Zero: Fun And Games

  • Turstin charged forward, sending his first blade sweeping to the left. The edge shifted in an arc untouched by the rain that dropped from the sky. Aden, who remained stupefied, went to guard with his ruby shield, but the blade created a mirage of itself, to his dismay. Having seen the blade coming from the left, he knew that the sword's quickness could also cause it to shift to the right. Not only this, but the blade caused mirages from how fast it went, thus giving it the illusion of it coming from the left when in reality, it came from the right. Aden growled, taking the slash from Turstin to the side. Blood graphically gushed from his ribs. He grinned after the tear. Aden clasped his gauntlet armored hand down on the sword, gripping it hard before yanking up and sending the blade and Turstin into the air.
  • "Turstin!!" Roselia yelled with concern.
  • Aden laughed in a maniacal manner opening his mouth and unleashing a great sphere of lava. The lava caused the water that dribbled down from the heavens to dissipate, creating mist. Turstin's eyes opened wide as he watched his would-be demise come forth in the form of a lava sphere.
  • 'My only way to block his attack… is to use it. But… what if I can't control it? What if… I accidentally hurt her?' Turstin thought to himself.
  • "I'll burn you to ashes!" Aden growled. Roselia whispered a small chant holding up her whip. The thorns on her whip then vanished. She wrapped her whip around Turstin's leg, pulling him away from the sphere that aimed to melt his face off. Aden, whose eyes shimmered with a dark aura, growled, yelling in a crazed state, blasting more lava in the direction of Roselia." Watch out, Rose!"
  • Roselia's eyes widened, watching the orbs of lava rushing in her direction. Turstin managed to regain his footing shaking his head all the while. With his bandaged arm forward, he began to chant. The chant soon allowed an unleashing and unchaining of his arm. As he chanted, a man disguised in a jester-esque cloak arrived behind Roselia. He wrapped his arm around her and then hopped away from the lava. Turstin sighed in relief, but the battle wasn't over. The changed Aden laughed louder and louder to the point where his veins popped from his forehead. Landing on the ground, Turstin adjusted his stance and pointed his sword at Aden, whose long crimson hair stood up as the mist grew denser.
  • "This is bad. Aden changed. What did you do to yourself, Aden!? Is power really something you wanted, or were you tricked into attaining it?" Turstin thought to himself.
  • The brightness of the lava that was being spat out rushed toward Turstin once more. The heat started to rise as the rain stopped, only making room for a thick mist. Turstin dodged each sphere with ease. He looked around the area, trying to find Aden but was unsuccessful. Aden soon revealed himself to Turstin by smashing his ruby shield into the earth where Turstin once stood. Having dodged the shield smash, Turstin soared in the air analyzing his opponent's rising aura.
  • "Aden, you'll die right here in the name of justice!!"
  • "Show me YOUR TRUE POWER!!!!" Aden yelled in response.
  • His aura oozed from his body with a tint of crimson lacing. Turstin's eyes widened, blocking each shield bash Aden threw at him. Soon he had to dodge and block Aden's fist. To Turstin's dismay, Aden unleashed more onslaught than he usually would. After a shield smash, he attempted to punch at Turstin alongside releasing a stream of lava from his mouth at point-blank range. Turstin felt the heat increase, and the heat almost melted him to death if it wasn't for yet another save.
  • "Thank you, Roselia."
  • "You forgot I am here, Aden! I won't let you hurt Turstin; I will never let anyone hurt him! I can't let it happen," Roselia shouted, unleashing her whip in the direction of Aden.
  • She pulled the whip wrapped around Aden's shielded arm tightly, soon disarming the knight. Aden growled, but his growl completely changed into a burst of sadistic laughter. Outraged, he charged Roselia with the full intent of ending her life.
  • "AAHAHAHAHAH!!!! I'll end you, puny girl!! I'll smother you with chaos!"
  • Turstin grunted, hearing his former friend's laughter and threat toward Roselia. Moving around the wooden wall that saved him from the lava, his heart ached with dismay. He couldn't move fast enough to stop Aden from getting to Roselia. Her eyes had widened , and she suddenly clenched them shut, waiting for the blazing knight to end her life there and then.
  • "Roselia!!! Dodge!! Block! Do something, please! Move!!!" Turstin pleaded with her, rushing as fast as he could to her side, having forgotten the jester-like figure who had already saved her. That exact figure hopped in front of Roselia and, with a raised hand, unbeknownst to Turstin, unleashed a barrage of flimsy steel wire that slashed upwards from the earth, wrapping around the blazing hot knight. Aden shouted in utter anger, trying to set himself free from the steel bands. The cloaked male soon parted his arms allowing the wires to slice the knight into pieces leaving his body a heap of flesh and bones in a pool of blood.
  • "Rose! Thank goodness she's safe!" Turstin spoke.
  • "W-who are you?" Roselia questioned.
  • Eyes met with Roselia immediately. The male turned his full attention to her, then back at the man who arrived before holding a sword to his neck.
  • "Is that any way to treat someone who saved your girlfriend, not once but twice?" The man inquired.
  • Turstin growled, pushing the sword's tip closer to the man's neck. The man laughed just a bit, pushing the blade away. After doing so, he took his hood off and bowed to the two.
  • "Well, I wouldn't want to assume who you are by your wardrobe choice, so get to introducing yourself," Roselia demanded.
  • "Very well….
