Chapter 1 Zero: After The Storm

  • "The city of Goldenwatch harbors many kinds of trees. All different kinds loom here in this fascinating city of high buildings and low crime. Though what people don't comprehend is even the trees cling to life. Not only do the people strive for life , but the trees do as well. The tree branches are like limbs of a human being reaching for life, waiting to be rescued, waiting for support. Why do the people chop them down as though they are nothing? Well, it all revolves around one word: life. The people who choose to end the lives of trees will eventually meet their demise similarly. Sooner or later, the queen will pass judgment on all the poor souls that banish the trees to the world known as the Underworld. Soon the humans will be the ones reaching out for life like the trees they gracefully chopped down.Who will stand before she who calms the world and grants it peace? Well, no one is strong enough to stop the inevitable. The people will silently watch as the trees did once before, watching their brethren being slaughtered and shredded into pieces."
  • Verse 4 of 33 of the Prophecy, known only as Catastrophe.
  • Goldenwatch
  • Cheers filled the extravagant streets. Many florists launched petals into the heavens while pipers played their pipes with joy. Marching through the crowd was a young man by the age of twenty adorned by a cloak that was heavily shaded black. His short brown locks and shining green eyes remained uncloaked from the people who cheered him on. Beside him walked a female with long light green hair and three others just behind them. The people continued their loud and joyous screams, willing their heroes on. The children ran about reenacting the happenings of what was supposed to be the demise of their beloved Goldenwatch.
  • "Turstin is the best!" A young female yelled.
  • "Tch. Give me a break!"
  • "Come on, Roselia, let them cheer me on. I am a hero, after all."
  • The green-haired woman to the left of Turstin rolled her eyes, halting beside her comrade. The crowd quieted themselves to a low tone, ready to listen to the ceremonies. Turstin watched on before he kneeled on one knee, bowing his head. The female copied the three soldiers heavily equipped in silver armor at their rear. A tall and burly man wearing a golden crown stepped from the royal crimson curtain introducing himself to the people he cared for—a wave of his hand, the people, went to a boisterous rising.
  • The King of Goldenwatch wore many ornaments across his chest along with many white and gold robes. Holding out his hand before him, the King wearing a gold mask with a happy look upon it, cleared his throat and spoke for the second time since his arrival here fifteen years ago.
  • "Turstin, Roselia, Aquarius, Aden, and Gale have all earned the title of savior for the city of Goldenwatch. Not only did they slay the dreaded dark dragon the dark lord himself sent to terrorize our homeland, but they secured our home from damage as well. Turstin, please step forward and accept this medallion that symbolizes the heroic feat of today."
  • Turstin's green eyes adjusted onto the masked face of the King. Uneasy, the male brought himself up and took a single step forward before taking the medallion that shone with brilliance while the sun was glistening down upon the golden city of magnificence. Turstin bowed before the King, turning to the people, and bowing.
  • "I thank you, my King. I will devote my entire life to this city and, if I can, even this world. I will only increase in strength. There is no stopping me from bringing justice to the world!"
  • Turstin turned around and went back to the same posture before, with his small speech ending.
  • "What a great speech you gave there, buddy. It shows just how 'noble' you are." One of the knights behind Turstin blurted.
  • "Leave him alone. Don't forget your place, Aquarius. Remember who it was that made this moment possible." The woman named Roselia snapped back.
  • Turstin only gazed at her, the two sharing a moment within the booming cheers. Blushing, the lone female flipped her light green locks to the side and giggled. Turstin's eyes shifted from her face over to Roselia's cerulean circlet. His eyes soon slowly maneuvered down onto her elegant cerulean eyes. He could tell she was happy for him. Anyone could. Blushing himself, he took his eyes off her and held his left arm in utter pain. The knights behind him and Roselia soon chuckled; one responded to the comments previously made,
  • "Yeah, right. I could only pretend to believe HE did anything. Judging from how aura spurts out from his arm, I'd say the proper thanks and admiration goes to his arm rather than the cocky asshole that owns it."
  • Roselia and Turstin both dismissed the derogatory remarks with anger swelling inside both.
  • "Roselia, please come forth and receive your medallion of bravery!" The King shouted.
  • Roselia watched Turstin with concern, her eyes never leaving him. Perturbance boiled over as she redirected her arms to hold Turstin up rather than receive the medallion that brilliantly shined. The crowd gasped, and within seconds Turstin collapsed. Darkness was overtaking him completely, nothing but blackness.
  • A couple of hours passed, and we found Turstin lying in a bed recuperating with Roselia settled beside him.
  • "Turstin, are you alright?"
  • A soft and loving whisper resonated through his head repeatedly. Turstin's eyes opened swiftly, and he saw Roselia with a smooth movement to the left. Sighing in relief, he gazed down at his arm, gulping.
  • "It's only getting worse, Rose... this arm of mine. I mean, it only reacts when... when I'm near King Moira... Oh no... I messed your-"
  • "Don't worry about it, Turstin. You didn't mess anything up for me. You might have gotten Aden mad, but the others are fine. You are our bravest warrior, after all. Your health is more important than our medallions , alright? Always remember that," Roselia informed.
  • Turstin sighed, not satisfied with her words. Sitting up, the male cracked his neck, and with his attempt to stand, Roselia stood and pushed her body against his getting back onto the bed with her over him.
  • "Wh-what? Wait... Rose."
