Chapter 30

• The woman approached the car, her step light and almost cautious. Where Dawn's hair was long, hers were cut really short, and her gait was that of a predator stalking its prey. She was dressed in all black, her blue eyes shining against the contrast of her dark eyeliner. Fancy jewels adorned her ear, neck, and nails.
• Gracie glanced at Gabriel who was also staring at the lady in confusion. Something was also wrong with the air, it felt as if it was blowing in slow motion.
• Gracie made to go out of the car when Gabriel stopped her, his hands coming to rest on hers and making her pause in the motion of unbuckling her seatbelt, their eyes connected and held.
