Chapter 54 Her revenge

• Mike waited impatiently for Denise to walk through those doors. They are finally back on track after resolving their misunderstanding. He looked at his watch and frowned as he realized Denise should have arrived five minutes earlier.
• "It's already 8:30 p.m.; what's going on?" he thought to himself. Just as he was about to leave, Ronnie burst through the door, a panicked expression on his face. Mike's heart sank as he realized what it meant. He yelled Denise's name throughout the house but got no response.
• "Please don't leave me, Denise; I need you," he said quietly, crumpling to his knees after the last room was checked. He felt a heavy hand on his shoulder and saw Ronnie's heartbreaking eyes on him.
