Chapter 6 Woman

  • Austin’s POV
  • “You are alone inside and before entering the elevator, sir.” He reported.
  • “What are you saying?” I asked.
  • “What is it, sir?”
  • “Nothing, I got it.” I just answered him but still confused about who is that woman. I did not saw her face as she’s still looking downwards while still talking to me.
  • I walk towards the room of Quianna, but peek first to see if she’s with someone inside. Upon seeing that she’s alone lying on her bed, I entered the room and checking the place.
  • “What do you want?” she said while facing her back on me.
  • “I just got a report that the assailant went in this hospital.” I answered.
  • “What? Did you catch him?” she immediately asked.
  • “Not yet, but our team is tailing him now, you can hear good news later.” I answered.
  • “About my offer, have you thought about it?” I asked to him.
  • “I am still not sure. I can ask help with my best friend.” She answered.
  • “But he’s not a police officer. I can help you legally.” I am trying to convince her. Wait, that’s what the woman said at the elevator a while ago.
  • “We can also do it by ourselves.” She whines.
  • “She said I should convince you.” A slipped of a tongue.
  • “Who’s she?” she confusedly asked.
  • “Just someone I saw a while ago. She said I should convince you.” I explained.
  • “How can you believe that woman?” she said.
  • “She vanished after she said that to me.” she stares at me and look away.
  • “But, I still don’t know.” She answered.
  • “You have to do this job with me Quianna!” I still insist.
  • “Alright! I got it!” she yelled.
  • “Would you be the witness, Quianna?” I asked her again.
  • “Alright, I’ll do it.” she answered, and I just smiled at her.
  • “This is Dispatch 2, we found the inn where the suspect is. We are entering in.” Aaron said through the radio.
  • “I have to go.” I said to her.
  • “I’ll go with you.” She said.
  • “No, you need to rest first.” I said to her.
  • “But…”
  • “No buts, I’ll update you later.” I said then grab her phone and call mine.
  • “What are you doing?” she asked.
  • “This is my number, call me if anything happens.” I said then give her the phone.
  • “One more thing.” She said and I just looked at her.
  • “We must keep it a secret to Dylan.” She said, I just nodded and left the room.
  • Quianna’s POV
  • I don’t know if this is a good decision or not, but I guess having a police officer on my side would keep me safe from the possibilities of being in danger.
  • Dylan would help me with anything, but I will only put him in danger if I kept him in this mission. I will not say it’s my mission yet because I don’t know why I am the one who’s receiving these messages.
  • Looking at the latest message again, I think I should do my part here. I stand up and remove the dextrose on my hand. I immediately dressed up and slowly opened the door. When I made sure that no one will saw me leaving the room, I run towards the elevator and went out of the hospital. I ride taxi all the way to the columbarium and look where my father lies. I contacted the place that I wanted to open the place where the urn is located, and they gave me their permissions.
  • When I opened it, the urn is empty.
  • “Hello? Aina?” I said through a call.
  • “Yes, Quianna. What can I do for you?” she said jokingly.
  • “I want you to do something for me.” I said.
  • “That’s what I say, now spill.” She said.
  • “Can I look at the reports when my father was cremated?” I asked her.
  • “Why do you need it?”
  • “The urn is empty, my father is not here.” I said to her.
  • Dylan’s POV
  • After the work, I immediately went straight to the hospital where Quianna is. But before I reached her room, I noticed that the door is opened ajar and seems like someone entered or exited from it. I run to look inside but no one is there, I call the nurses but they don’t know where Quianna is.
  • “Quianna, where are you?” I said upon she answered the call.
  • “Sorry, I have to step out for a bit.” She answered.
  • “Where did you go in your state?” I asked worriedly.
  • “Come on, I am doing good. I think my wound is already healing.” She answered.
  • “But where are you?”
  • “I am at Aina’s, just catching up.” She playfully said.
  • “I said I should be the one who’ll visit her but she said she wanted to go out.” I heard Aina said.
  • “I’ll come there, wait for me.” I said.
  • “No, we’ll be fine.” Quianna said.
  • “Come on, it’s been a while since I saw him let him be.” Aina said.
  • “Then, it’s final. I’ll be there.” I said then ended the call.
  • Why did she went to Aina, I think she did not went there just to have a good time.
  • *Phone rings*
  • “Dylan, how’s Quianna?”
  • “She’s fine, I am on my way to meet her.” I said to Quianna’s mom.
  • “Really? The columbarium called me they said that Quianna opened the shelf. Is there something wrong?” did she really do that?
  • “Sorry but I am not quite sure but I can ask her about it.” I assure her.
  • “Don’t ask her, I’ll be the one who’ll talk to her about it.” she said.
  • “I got it. ma’am.” I said then ended the call.
  • Why did she open it? did she got another message again? Ugh, that girl keeps on believing that nonsensical messages.
  • I arrived at Aina’s place and the place is so messed up. The drinks are all around the place as well the as chips and the food they ate. Looks like she’s been here hours ago.
  • “Look at this mess.” I said upon seeing them laughing at each other.
  • “Oh, it’s Dylan!” Aina exclaimed.
  • “Oh? Why are you here?” Yana said.
  • “I said I’ll go here, right?” I answered them.
  • “Come here my handsome best friend!” Yana said then drag me towards her.
  • “Yah! Let go of him!” Aina said. This is really a mess.
  • “Aina, do you know that I’ve been caught in some crazy scenarios these days.” Yana started.
  • “Are you sure you just didn’t go crazy?” Aina teases.
  • “Come on, you have to believe me.” Yana said. And I am just watching them having their drunk talks.
  • “I am receiving messages that some unfortunates will happened, then poof! It really happens in front of me.” Yana explained.
  • “Are you hallucinating?”
  • “No, I am not! I clearly saw and witnessed all of it!”
  • “Then, what did you do?” then Yana became upset all of a sudden.
  • “I can’t do anything.” She answered.
  • “All of it happened in front of me but I cannot do anything to prevent or solve them.” She continues.
  • “You are a human after all, you cannot stop the roll of fate.” Aina explained.
  • “But the fate keeps knocking and I think I should open my door for it.”
  • “Yana, opportunities are the only one you should let enter. What will happen to your work? Would you apply for resignation letter?” Aina scolds her.
  • “Oh right! I need to go to work! I can’t do that! Not a chance!” Yana shouted at her realizations.
  • “See? You should look at reality, my best friend!” Aina exclaimed.
  • “You’re right! I haven’t thought about that.” Yana said then release a deep sigh.
  • “You’re so dumb! Decide one at a time, no one’s chasing you.” Aina last said then collapsed. She’s so drunk. I looked at Yana who’s still drinking alcohol, she looks so stress.
  • “Yana, are you alright?”
  • “If you’re asking if I am drunk, I am not.” She answered.
  • “Why are you drinking suddenly?” I asked.
  • “Suddenly? No, I just wanted to catch up with Aina. We saw each other ages ago.” She explained.
  • “But why did you go to the columbarium?” I asked then she put down her cup.
  • “How did you know?” she asked, and I just stare at her.
  • “Oh, mom told you? Nothing, I just missed my dad.” She answered.
  • “But you’re just shot, still need to rest.”
  • “I am good, I can now run, now work. Sir! Please don’t fire me!” she suddenly shouted which makes us both laughs.
  • “I will not, don’t worry.” I answered to her.
  • “This will be the first and last time I will ask favor to you about work, Dylan.” She said and look straight to me.
  • “Can you just cover me up at work if someone asks for me? I don’t want to get fired.” She said sadly.
  • “Why are you so afraid of getting fired? Your mother will pass to you your hospital.” I asked.
  • “Dylan, I need to work and study hard for me to manage the company well. I can inherit the hospital but how can I manage it if I don’t have any experience?”
  • “They why not work in the hospital directly.”
  • “Let’s just say I need connections.” She said jokingly.
  • “I am your connections.” I answered her jokes.
  • “No, you are my foundation.” She answered seriously.
  • “You are always there for me, helping me and even supporting me in everything I do. That’s enough.” She answered then smiled.
  • “Then, am I just stuck at being your friend?” I asked sincerely.
