Chapter 8
- Asher Smith
- The next few weeks were torture, gaining Willow's trust was hard, but I knew it would be. She were slowly beginning to trust me or at least I think she would.
- We had gotten to the point where she wasn't completely scared or cold towards me. I could even be alone in the same room with her. We don't talk much, getting a conversation out of her is extremely difficult. I wanted to get to know her better, understand her and what she had been through. But her gaurd was up.
- This was going the first I left her in the house by herself, the only one I trusted with her was Leigh. I tried to introduce her to the rest of the coven but she was shy and got scare, especially towards Conner and I didn't understand why.
- Out bond was getting stronger, I could feel it. I don't know if she can and it was killing me inside. I was constantly craving to be by her, if was like the same way I crave blood.
- Conner and I organize a meeting with the head council to discuss what we were going to do about Blaze and his mutts.
- After a long time discussing, we decided that we were going to attack and leave no wolf alive, we just needed a plan which would require detailed planning. Even if I have to be away from her to protect her, I will.
- Finally getting back to the house I felt relief, the weather had completely taken a turn, the skies are darker then usually and heavy rain had started to come down.
- As soon as I entered the house my first instinct was to find Willow. I make my way into the livingroom to find Leigh and Sarah chilling on the couch. Sarah was Leigh's best friend they were extremely close.
- "Where is Willow?" I asked Leigh who turned to look at me.
- "Hey Ash, how are you?" Sarah asked.
- "Hey, Sarah I'm good," I said turning back to Leigh.
- "She's outside," Leigh said before going back to the TV.
- "What do you mean she's outside?" I raised my voice.
- Leigh looks back at me and extends her arm to the window by the arm chair. "She for yourself."
- I quickly rushed to the window and saw my mate outside. She was barefoot on the wet grass, the rain completely soaking her.
- "What is she doing out there Leigh?" I asked harshly.
- She shrugs her shoulders "she wanted to said something about not seeing the rain."
- I look at her likes she bat shit crazy. "Are you mad? What if she ran off? What if she got hurt?" I yelled at her.
- She rolls her eyes. "And you're the one saying she needs to trust you."
- "Leigh-' I say rubbing my face.
- "She promised that she would stay right there."
- "And you believed her?" I asked stunned.
- Leigh narrowed her eyes at me and looked out the window. "Ummm yes," she says in a "duh" tone. "She's been out there for a while and she's still out there."
- "How long does a while mean?" I shouted before my legs moved to the door.
- "Like 20 minutes." She said.
- I made my way to the door and onto the grass. Completely ignoring the bitter rain on my skin as I approached Willow.
- "Hey." I said lightly gripping her are to get her attention.
- She turns and smiles at me, no not smiling she beaming. Just looking at her made my breath catch in my lungs.
- Her light blonde hair is struck across her face. The rain drops had completely covered her skin and they clungged to her eye lashes. She looks absolutely stunning.
- Her eyes lit up with excitement and happiness and I couldn't help but smile at her.
- "What are you doing out here, Willow?" I questioned. I took off my jacket and wrapped it around her.
- "The rain, it's absolutely amazing." She said as she holds out her hand to catch the rain drops.
- She looks up at the sky and closes her eyes, she looked peaceful.
- I can't stop myself for what I'm about to do next, with the bond growing stronger and the urge not to touch her was killing me. I needed to feel her.
- I reached up cupping her face lightly, catching her by surprise, her eyes finally looking at me.
- My eyebrows furrowed at her slightly. "You never see the rain before?" I asked gently.
- She laughed completely ignoring that I was touching her. "Of course I have, it's just been 3 whole years since I've seen the rain it's just.... just-" She cuts herself off.
- I find myself rubbing her cheek with my thumb lightly and staring into her beautiful emerald green eyes.
- "It's just what?" I asked as I looked down at her lips, rain drops on them.
- "It just makes me feel alive and reminds me I am alive." She Says pausing and looked away. "It's like I can feel something that it's real! I can go outside, I can feel the rain, I can breath out here!" She said excitedly.
- Smiling down at her again completely amazed with her. "You never fail to amaze me, you know that?"
- I can't ignore how nervous she looks and her cheeks redden.
- "Come on let's get you inside." I say dropping my hand from her face and gently took her tiny hand in mine leading us back to the house.
- While she is in the shower, I make the livingroom cozy and comfortable. I light the fire place and dim the lights, getting blankets and as many pillows I can.
- "I take it yall are getting along then, huh?" Leigh asked, I turned to look at her and she leaning against the wall with her hands on her hips.
- "I'm trying not to jinks it Leigh, I'm just taking it one day at a time." I said honestly as I watched as she smiles.
- "Wise decision big bro." She says.
- A few minutes later Willoe comes down the stairs. I noticed she was wearing one of my tee-shirts and a pair of my sweat pants.
- "I'll leave you guys too it." Leigh says
- "Come," I say gently. "I've got blankets and snacks." I touch the set next to me.
- I noticed she was fumbling with her hands before slowly made her way to me. She sat down leaving a little space between us. The urge to just pull her against me was slowing creeping in, but I knew I had to respect her and what she wanted.
- "Do you want to watch a movie?" I asked and she nods.
- "What is your favorite?" I asked and she bit her bottom lip as she thinks.
- I couldn't help but watch her and think how her lips would feel against mine. Instantly shaking my head at that thought, my eyes looked everywhere but her. I felt guilty for that thought. I know she wasn't ready and there was no way I would touch her until she was.
- "I-I think I use to enjoy The Princess Bride when I was young." She said.
- "The Princess Bride it is then." I said
- I pass her the blankets and watched her snuggle into them.
- Half way through the movie she lifts her head and looks at me. "W-w-where were you today?" She asked quietly. I shuffled a little bit closer. "No one would tell me why everyone left."
- I smiled at her. "To make sure no one is ever going to hurt you again." I told her.
- She looks at me confused. "What do you mean?"
- "Me and Conner had a meeting with the head Vamier council, I wanted to make sure that Blaze and his mutts will pay for what they did." I said seriously.
- "What about your coven? He's dangerous and insane, you're putting everyone in danger!" She said with panic in her voice.
- Her eyes flickered away from me and her chest begins heaving. I reached out and put my hand on hers gently and the warm sensation moved through my body. The strongest I ever felt.
- I knew she felt the sensation. "I don't know if I will ever get use to this." Willow says as she pulls her hand away.
- "Used to what?"
- "Getting butterflies in my tummy when you, umm touch me." She says shyly as she pulls her hand away.
- "It's the bond, do you feel it?"
- She nods her head at me.
- "Can I ask you something?"
- She hesitated but nods her head. "Yes." She replies.
- "Do you remember who your parents are? Or their names?"
- Willow looks away. "I-I can't remember." She says sadly.
- "Do you remember where you are from?"
- "No, I don't remember." She whispers.
- "Why are you so scared of my best friend, Conner?" I asked and her eyes snapped to me.
- I remember her asking about him, and how her body shook in fear. Whenever he was around, it was strange and I wanted to know why.
- Tears gathered in her eyes and she began to shake. I can sense how scared she is. Feeling her feelings are killing me.
- Before I knew it she pushes the blankets away and she races out of the living room. And I'm right on her trail and followed her. "Willow," I say trying to stop her.
- "Wait." I say and I lunged forwared and grabbed her hand.
- She pulls it away from me almost falling backwards. "Stay away from me!" She Says as tears fall down her face.
- "Don't push me away, please. I'm only trying tounderstand." I pleaded.
- She backs away shaking her head. "Just leave me alone." She sys and dissappear up the stairs.
- "Willow," I shouted after her but she gone before I knew it.
