• She was exhausted, but refused to slow down or complain. Brock was ten feet in front of her and Calum ran alongside her, briefly moving out, around, or weaving behind her to the other side.
• He made a soft noise and Brock answered in kind, then both stopped. Huffing out a breath, she stopped and stood there panting. He rubbed his shoulder against her leg, almost pushing her over in the process. When he did it again she realized, he wanted her to sit down. “I’m fine,” she gasped.
• He made a low yowl and bumped her again.
