  • He’d been quiet again and it was getting on her last nerve. She didn’t think she liked the chatty version of him, but she definitely didn’t like the silent one. Getting out, she looked around, “I guess we have some shoveling to do.” She pointed, “key is supposed to be in that little shed. See if there’s a shovel there too.”
  • It was weird that a little house was in the middle of nowhere. She turned in a circle. It was in the open, which should make it easier for her to keep watch, but it made her feel uneasy at the same time. They’d be heading out in the morning again.
  • Griffin came back and unlocked the door, and then started shoveling toward her.
